On arrival we were taken into a side room and asked if we wanted to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch (after a long drive). When we said we were not interested we were kept waiting over an hour after the check in time of 4 pm. We had to keep checking at the desk and were told by extremely arrogant, surly and frankly disinterested reception staff that the room was still not ready. On the third attempt we were told that the room had to be inspected. When we were finally given a room around 1 hour 15 minutes after check in, we found that the room had not been inspected. There was bedding left in a bag in the second bedroom, and a housekeeper turned up trying to instal another coffee maker which we did not want. We booked an ocean view room and paid a lot of money. The view we had was mainly inland, with a very small view of the ocean. The website in this regard is extremely misleading. Had I known this was the case I would not have booked it at all. The sheet in the master bedroom was too small for the bed. There was no shower curtain in bathroom 2, and the bath did not readily drain. The water in shower 1 was barely warm. The dining facilities were practically non-existent. The shop was closed for refurbishment. The pool area sounded like a nightclub. There is a time and place for this, not constantly every day. The only staff at the hotel who were helpful and very pleasant were the beach staff, they could not have been nicer. All in all a disappointing stay.
