We arrived at 10:30 at night two of the workers had walked out to smoke a cigarette as we were walking in. We stood for a while and one of them came in apologized that she didn’t know we hadn’t already checked in. We had booked a two night stay as we were there for a college visit. My daughter on the day of the visit had gotten sick and so we spent several hours in a hospital waiting to be seen. When we were finally released we decided it be better to go ahead and head home instead of staying in the room. We arrived at 3:06 and I asked if we could not be charged for a second night cause she was sick and we were heading home which is a four hour drive. The woman looked at us and said no I’m not supposed to do that. Zero empathy or compassion— I didn’t fight it I was more worried about my child. I went upstairs to get our items; the cleaning crew had just started on our floor so it wasn’t as though it was too late to clean the room or anything. Oh and breakfast that morning at 7:30 was almost gone and the bread was hard and eggs were cold there were zero potatoes available.
