Lovely grand old hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are small but very comfortable. We were in main hotel which was very nice. Beautiful view of the lake and morning sunrise. Dinner was excellent and our server was great. The lobby is very nice with a nightly piano player and cocktails. Wish they offered hot cocoa too. No complimentary morning coffee but can buy it in the deli. Location and parking good. Front desk staff could be more welcoming.

I had a situation where I needed to make a call and my cellphone was not working, so the woman at the desk just handed me her landline phone to make the call. Staff also escorted me to and from the EV charger in the employee quarters. They exceeded my expectations.

The Hotel is beautiful with a porch &rocking chairs. (more chairs are needed) we stayed in cabin 606. It was decorated very nicely, but neither the heater nor the bathroom fan worked. Make dinner reservations when you book. We didn’t and could not eat there. We ended up eating at the more casual Lake Lodge hotel. Their porch and rocking chairs are great.

Upon first arrival, the hotel is overwhelming with beauty. Full of history and immaculate in every detail. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Check in was smooth and staff was very friendly. The grounds were immaculate and the view of the lake just breathtaking. A great decision on our part to stay there while visiting Yellowstone!

Room was clean and comfy, and safety was no issue. Plenty of free parking. Value for the dollar was low, as you paid a premium for location to Yellowstone park. The weak point for the property were dining options and staff. The hostess for the hotel restaurant ($$$$) was snotty and not helpful when asked about dining in the main restaurant, and when asked about menus for dining in the bar replied I don't know, you'll have to go over there (they were serving desserts and appetizers same as in the main restaurant). We ate elsewhere.

Beautiful Hotel and Inn

We had a great stay at the Sand Piper. No a/c in the heat of the day and night was rough, but the breeze was blowing too the front of the Inn, and I think the rooms on that side were much more comfortable. There was a vision at the front door each afternoon, which was a great up and personal addition!
