Nick, the manager was so kind and accommodating. He’d allowed my check in by phone before he closed office for the night as I wouldn’t be arriving early enough. The next day I made it a point to go in and introduce myself. Upon check out I was able to see him again to say goodbye and introduce him to my daughter. He expressed gratitude for my daughter’s life of service and we chatted about his love for minerals and gemology. The cheerful, whimsical aesthetic was a delight in the otherwise drab color scheme of the desert. It was a fantastic stay with excellent service.

Warm, friendly, helpful proprietor and clean, comfortable and charming cabin, such a reasonable price. Would stay again. Comfy bed, great air con, huge fridge freezer, microwave, coffee filter machine, great shower. 2 mugs provided - need to bring own bowls/plates/cutlery. Supermarket 1min drive away. Porch with bench, on hill, so great view of sunset. A bit tired but adds to charm and didn’t affect stay in any way.

Good for the price.

Owner is a sweetheart. Room is clean, spacious, unique, central to 29 palms, top of the hill view of the desert from the shared porch. Parking right at the room. A few inconveniences are that the coffee is terrible but plenty of cafe's around. The internet is completely useless, I couldn't even get a speedtest to work and used my hotspot or went to Starbucks. The electrical is over-extended - my laptop would not charge unless I shut it down. Plugging it in caused the lights to dim. There are a lot of appliance noises (AC but other things) inside and out, so it is not quiet. Depending on what you are doing, for me these were minor inconveniences for the price. But full disclosure, I live on a sailboat, so it was a mansion to me.

This is a very nice older motel at a great price . It has colorful individual huts and mine was very clean. It's a bit awkward to park a motorcycle but he says we can park in the gated flat area where the pool used to be. The owner is very nice and helpful. I liked staying here.

I’ll be staying here next time

The stay was overall great! This is a locally owned hotel with nice hard working folks in charge! The rooms were big, spacious, were equipped with a kitchen space with a fridge and microwave, and the bathroom was big and well equipped. Great super competitive price for the area too!! My only con to the property is that the rooms absorb quite a lot of heat during the day making them TOASTY during the night. While it was in low 40s outside, inside we were in the 80s. The AC was very very noisy and not efficient at all so we had to leave it on for a while and couldn’t sleep. The windows had mesh but it was damaged so we were scared bugs would come inside and then we definitely wouldn’t sleep at all. However after leaving the AC on for a bit and putting on a fan (it includes a standing fan!) we were able to turn off the AC and sleep! Beyond that, the property is really well maintained, very clean!! For everyone concerned about bed buga when traveling, the rooms don’t have carpet and were well cleaned. This alone decreases the bed bug survival in comparison with your traditional carpeted hotel room. It also helps the room cool faster for the hot nights! For those complaining about paint- please chill!! It’s a hotel, not the color of your home! I enjoyed staying at a vibrant, locally owned place, with close access to the park, and a short 2-5 min drive to restaurants and more services.

I’d have to say the interesting experience thing in your in it’s got unique potential and the most fantastic sunrise view. I’ve seen in a very very long time right from your front porch and night sky right down the block just need somebody in the front office. Who knows how to smile.

Colorful gem in Twentynine Palms!

This little colorful hotel is not a five star boujee hotel….BUT it was a small quiet place that had colorful rooms and comfortable beds to sleep on. TV and air condition worked very good. Went to climb in JT for 3 days and the place was perfect for us. There was some people that lived there but were very nice and kept to themselves! Felt safe and let me tell you about the manager what a warm friendly welcome we received from him. We happened to go the week that Coachella weekend 2 fell on so all the rooms were either priced super crazy high or they were booked up! Well I had RSVP a week before so we had the room for 2 days we then decided we wanted to stay again Friday night so we went to ask the manager and he had 1 room available and let us stay! The place is clean and not all fancy and shiny so to speak but I highly recommend this little gem to everyone a big plus is the sunset is spectacular from any of the rooms on the property! The prices for the room’s are so reasonable!

The rooms were uniquely painted and all are different. We liked that there was a fridge available.

Sweet little cabins on a hillside with a nice view of the rising sun and downtown Twentynine Palms. Each cabin has its own bright color scheme. Each unit is clean and well appointed inside, though rough around some edges. We had a full size fridge in our unit (which was excellent), yet the right and left faucets in the shower didn't match, and the cold was a bit hard to turn on/off. For the money and the views, and the extremely kind and helpful management, it's great lodging. Definitely not glamorous, but very welcoming, clean, and comfortable.
