We had a wonderful stay at the resort. It is a beautiful area and worth visiting. The room was large with lots of coffee and a refrigerator. We were there only one night but it was a great room.

We liked they notified us that our room was ready early. Also, we got a great room and loved getting a recliner chair and spacious bathroom. The grounds are spectacular, the views outstanding, the food and drink excellent and the staff friendly and genuine.

This is a good property that, especially in the winter time, will provide plenty of entertainment for those who are skiers. However, the property looks run down, with chipped painting on the outside of it's lodges. The main building doesn't have convenient parking and isn't well marked as to what is the golf pro shop and what is the overnight lodging check-in. With some maintenance/upkeep - this can be a very good resort that will compete with Treetops and other northern Michigan facilities.

This place is amazing! We did a girls weekend, and wine tasting color tour on the golf carts. We had the best time. A lot of people seen our pictures and asked for the information for your resort. We will definitely be back!

It was a nice location to town and other golf courses that the family wanted to explore. The resort is dated, but clean and friendly staff.

Unique accommodations with incredible views

So it took us an embarrassing amount of time to figure out where check in was. Hint, it’ll feel like you’re in the wrong place but you’re not. The staff at check in was helpful and efficient. I was taken aback at how beautiful the building and the views were. I imagine in its early days it was even more incredible. Vintage, high end ski lodge vibes. With the map we were provided at checkin we found our lodge/room relatively easily. I was disappointed our room didn’t have its own balcony, but it was rather a balcony for that floor/side. Some of the balconies had rotted wood, so that was a little unnerving. Our room was in the Blue Spruce Lodge, 2nd floor. The stairway and hallways were beautiful and unique- full of character and charm. We checked out the bar with live music in the evening. It was mostly middle age guys there on golf trips. Not exactly a happening nightlife scene but it made a beautiful spot to see the sunset across the hilly landscape. Our room was clean and comfortable. The lodge close to town. While it did have some quirks and could stand some updates, overall we really enjoyed our stay there. I prefer to stay somewhere with character, rather than a cookie cutter hotel.

Hidden Valley- a hidden gem!

The grounds are lovely! The former name “Hidden Valley was very appropriate… the sweeping landscape can’t be seen at all from the road. Peaceful- acres and acres of woodlands. We don’t hold but enjoyed the pool & disc golf. And the serene setting.
Pool surrounded with beautiful trees. Locker rooms a bit dated, needing a touch-up
Beautiful grounds!!

4/10 Fair

This property has so much potential. You walk in to a grand entry with huge windows overlooking the changing leaves over the ski hills, but there were no lights on and the windows were filthy. We ate at the Duck Blind restrestaurant. They didn't have a table ready by the windows and tried to sit us in the dark corner. When a few guests left, we asked for their table. They cleaned it off and gave it to someone else. So we just sat at the bar. We ordered the boneless chicken wings. They came out looking like a cheap bage of Tyson chicken nuggets. When we paid for our meal we did not leave a tip. We later checked our card and found a $16 added charge. This place was a terrible experience to our beautiful weekend. What a shame. We are at trestrestaurant

Fit the budget...that's all...

I chose this resort because the reviews were good and the price fit my budget, I did not come for the golf. However, I do not travel often and was disappointed by the lack of in room service. The desk person explained that because of Covid, service is limited to after 3 days of stay, unless you ask, and said this was policy for many hotels. I wish this was stated on website. The resort seemed old and in need of many repairs. The pool was closed for the season (bummer cuz it was in the 80s when I was there) Next time I will chose a place with an indoor pool and breakfast. The TV did not work when I got in my room, I called the desk and she sent someone out right away and he was very nice and polite and got it working !! Thank you to him!!! TV had been disconnected from the cable.... The views were beautiful from the main building.

2/10 Poor

I arrived after dark around 9pm with my 16 year old daughter. Check in went ok - upon arrival to the building with our 'economy' room, things went wrong. The room next to ours had old metal blinds that were 'shredded' and falling apart. The metal threshold at the entry door was tipping and moved when you were walking in and out. The blinds in our room were in bad shape. 'Economy' room was meant to indicate 4 twin beds instead of double beds - which was fine. The smoke detector was missing, likely because someone wanted to smoke at some point. Then the heat didn't work - called the front desk - they said they were sending a guy to come fix it. A guy came promptly - no uniform - dirty clothes with large stain on his pants - he quickly said - no, the heat doesn't work and I should call the front desk for another room. He was quite odd and lingered looking at me inappropriately then left. I started feeling more and more uncomfortable. Front desk said they would send a guy to help us move to another room. I waited a couple minutes then my daughter and I started packing up to load our truck, knowing it would be in another building. The previous 'guy' seemed to be living in our building and was sitting on a lawn chair just watching us load our truck in the dark. The sidewalk had lots of cracks and settling - very hazardous. Entire building was very run down.
