We did not get the food/snacks provided in the lobby, so I can't comment on that. I chose this location because the cost to stay in Monterey has increased significantly. The lobby is at the back of the convenience store located near the parking lot. There is no sign indicating where to check in, I saw an employee walk through the door and decided to follow. Desk clerk was very friendly and informative. They seem to be under new ownership, the building had some fresh paint and a few visual updates. It’s an older building, no elevator, only outside stairs and the hallway had a crib a fold away bed and other supplies left in it next to our door, we could also see into the backyard of the neighborhood behind the Inn. The beds were very hard, and the curtains and chairs absolutely need to be replaced. The curtains were hanging off the rail, and would not shut all the way, I had to pin them closed with two paper clips I had in my hand bag. The walkways are exterior and when they start cleaning service in the morning you can hear them pushing the carts down the concrete hallway. The room was clean, floors also very clean. Bedding and towels also very clean. I was worried about noise from the road but it was actually a very quiet night. I wouldn’t stay again as it’s wasn’t cozy enough for a long stay, it’s somewhere I would suggest after a late ballgame if I just needed to sleep before driving home the next day.
