It was great to have a quiet getaway without the constant buzz of nearby highways. The hotel is very well built so you don't hear the TV noise from next-door rooms. The pool was massive with a separate super large hot tub. I'll remember to bring my swimsuit next visit. Mike

Staff were very helpful & friendly. Was off season (skiing) so not many guests. Quick & seamless check in & out. Friendly & accomodating staff. Beautiful scenery, the chalet along with the view reminded me of a mini-Switzerland. Food ordered in restaurant came out quickly & was very tasty. Had a nice size indoor pool with hot tub. Parking was convenient. I have been in the travel business for decades & would recommend this property to my clients that are looking for something more intimate & not a chain. If you want country setting, with a European flair, this is it.

My husband and I had a weekend getaway to Whitecap. Although the room was "dated" it was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed the restaurant/bar. The hot tub was also a highlight of our trip.

The room was very clean and big with a new TV and AC. The food was wonderful, and I'm a fussy person. The staff were all Nice and fun and helpful. Our only complaint is that the mattresses were very uncomfortable. They were too soft, which I realize is a personal thing. We didn't find much to do around there. We did enjoy the waterfalls. We found an excellent breakfast place in Ironwood, MI, called the Uptown Cafe.

Peaceful but not clean…

We did enjoy our stay, but a few things to be noted: You are not allowed to bring food or drink on the property as they are considered a resort so do you keep that in mind because it cost us $77 for two people to eat at the restaurant. The first room they had us in, had an issue with the air conditioner, but that is fine and one of the lights in the bathroom kept flickering, and that we were going to let slide as well until we went to lay in the bed and there was a ball of hair. So we moved to another room and they had no issue accommodating us - the front desk was extremely nice as well as the waitress in the restaurant. The food was basic, not really special but they had limited options. We got a burger and onion rings, spinach, and artichoke dip and a fish sandwich with fries and nacho The next room they moved us into had a much better air conditioner unit so be mindful when you are booking because we originally booked the king suite and that room was not as good as a room they moved us to which was a double queen . But as soon as we walked in, we looked behind the lamp and there was a food wrapper so I would have to say this hotel is not that great on being clean. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and we left about 4 o'clock in the morning just to get back. It is a very secluded area in a beautiful area if you like nature and it is pet friendly so that's great and very cost-efficient but we did book it during the off-season so I'm sure in season is pricey.

Whitecap Mountain Ski Resort

Stayed at this rural ski lodge at off season to look for fall colors. Bed was comfortable, room was large. Hot tub was not very hot. There is no breakfast except on weekends for a charge (Friday morning). There was not a nearby town with breakfast that we knew of. The tv was streaming so you had to pay to view the Brewers playoff game. There is a $25 resort fee during non ski season. Very noisy (4 wheeler rally group stayed there). There were no tissues (have seasonal allergies) so that was inconvenient. Attendant staff was friendly (tried to find Brewer game for free…no luck). Expensive for off season. Would definitely not recommend.

It was very disappointing to find out we couldn't use the pool/hot tub when we arrived because it was rented out. I assume that we have "rented" the pool as customers of the hotel. The toilet ran all night and there was sand or dirt on the bedspread. Nothing overly terrible, but difficult to leave a great review.

On the road

The bathroom was very small and the wifi didn’t work inside the room. No phone in the room. Staff was very helpful and friendly and the food was tasty.

The pool/hot tub area are big, would have been nice to have a table or two in there along with towels. Rooms were nice, restaurant staff was inadequate, ordered food and never received it after waiting 45 minutes.

Big rooms, tiny showers.

No phones in rooms to call for issues with tv or room items, but once we walked all the way down, the staff was amazing. They ran out of washcloths but otherwise it was nice. The shower leaked all over and was super tiny, smaller than cruise ships. The restaurant was a little expensive and breakfast is not included. Pretty area.
