Our trip started off very rough. We were going to be late arriving, so we called ahead to let the front desk know. They went ahead and checked us in over the phone. When we arrived, they had given our room away and had no rooms available. This was at 4:00am. A couple ended up checking out shortly after we arrived, and the front desk clerk told us we could sleep in their room, even though it had not been cleaned. I was absolutely not going to sleep in a dirty room with my young children. They offered no resolution to their error. Eventually, the front desk clerk offered to change the sheets in the dirty room, so we would at least have somewhere clean to sleep. They indicated they would do a full clean first thing in the morning. While the beds were clean, the rest of the room was disgusting. They ended up changing us to a new room the next day at our request. The rest of the stay was lovely and the staff was better. The beach was beautiful and our family had a good time. Since we booked through a 3rd party, they could not compensate for our room. They did eventually reimburse the "resort fees," in an attempt to make up for their terrible error.
