Inflexibility
Our stay was generally good except for the check-in. When I made the reservation via Hotels.com I asked for a first floor room, if possible. (We're senior citizens and prefer not to carry luggage up stairs.) When we got there the clerk told us they had several 1st floor rooms available, but Expedia had already booked us into a 2nd floor room and she could not change it. I tried to contact Expedia to change or cancel our reservation, but could only get a useless Chatbot. Luckily, after about 1/2 hour of frustrating noncommunication with Expedia, a manager showed up and switched us to a 1st floor room. But if he hadn't shown up we would have been stuck with a 2nd floor room for 5 days, despite the availability of 1 floor rooms. I don't understand why Expedia booked us into a 2nd floor room.
