Great location and back view!

LOVED the back deck overlooking the river. The room was great except the bathroom. For a man, it’s okay. For women who have to primp it’s awkward. The location and back of the hotel make up for the awkward bathroom though. And it was clean. Internet didn’t work well either.

This was one of the best stays we’ve had in years. Immediately after checking in for our one night stay we looked around and requested a second night and the process was seamless. Wendy greeted me in the office and made check-in and the adjustment so simple. We met Vinny (the maintenance/cleaner) and he was the most polite, helpful and attentive hotel worker we have ever had the pleasure of meeting on a trip. The rooms were cozy, super clean, and the access to the river was an added bonus. Overall, this is a new place we will highly recommend to friends and family & be back over and over, and can’t wait to start planning our next trip!

We loved this stay!! The outside area was awesome to sit at by the river. We sat outside at night and just listened to the frogs and watched the lightning bugs zap around. The room was nice and cool. The bed was cozy. We will definitely be back!

This is a lovely place to stay. The rooms were very clean, well decorated, and stocked with basic amenities. Easy to find, with a lovely view of the Guadalupe river which is a short walk down a spacious patio area. The staff were all very friendly and eager to make our stay comfortable. Our only negative comment is that the property is located along a well traveled road. Road noises detract from the peaceful surroundings. That said, we’d stay there again.

We stayed here for a bicycle event in Wimberly. So we didn't eat or shop around this area, but we absolutely loved this hotel. Clean room, comfy beds, and very quiet. The grounds are beautiful with the river behind it. Wendy is super nice and very accommodating for our needs. She showed us the other rooms so we could have an idea of our next event to bring our cycling group. They are so cute! We were pleased with our stay and look forward to booking there again.

Decent stay with caveats

I had an overall pleasant one day stay at the Horseshoe Riverside Lodge. Surroundings are top notch with the view of the Guadalupe River from every room. It was quiet and serene despite being right by the highway. Walking in to my room I could tell it's been updated pretty recently. Nice flooring, bedding, and bathroom. It's smelled old and musty though so I could still tell it is an older building. The mattress was memory foam which some people might not prefer since it makes you sink into it. The bed frame was not my friend however. It's not like the usual frame you would find in a hotel nicely tucked underneath the mattress. This frame had metal legs that I was constantly jamming my toes into. Glad I made it out without a broken toe. Aside from that the only other thing I'll bring up is the decor in the room. If you're in any way left leaning you may not feel comfortable staying here with the signs on the walls about the national anthem and 2nd amendment rights. You don't see political signs of any sort at regular hotels. I understand this is a privately owned business and they can do what they want. But if I was in business I wouldn't want to do anything that could put off customers therefore reducing my potential profit and this certainly could. However if you're right leaning I'd bet you'd find it charming. Overall the view made it worth it and it was a good place to lay my head for one night.

Beat place to stay on the Horseshoe!

Wendy and Doc are so welcoming and they always check in to make sure we have everything we need. The property is beautiful—so peaceful and well-kept. We love staying here. It’s a great get-away!

Property was great, service was great, beds were comfortable, ac was good, location is great. My only two complaints are, room is small, couldn’t find a washer or dryer, and last but not least, the shower water pressure was not good. That kept me from giving five stars.
