Good central location in iconic building. Staff levels appear low leading to slow check-in and queues. Decoration tired in places but our room was sizeable and comfortable although no mirror in bathroom.

Staff do their best but the rooms especially need a massive investment. Old dining room etc downstairs is beautiful. Plumbing noisy, rooms are very small. No room safe. Bed seems like old uncomfortable mattress. Massive queue to book in despite having checked in online.

If I could give minus points I would, I’ve never stayed anywhere so bad.upon entering I was initially impressed,it reminded me of the foyer in the titanic movie. Going up stairs I noticed the staircase wasn’t dusted or hoovered and the mirrors were uncleaned. The room door was grubby and made me not even want to enter-I should have turned around,the paint was chipped and the door appeared to have been reinforced by plywood which again was worn and grubby. Opening the door I nearly got sick with the smell of old and damp. The door and handles had baldy painted chipped and sticky. The room was a good size. The beds were awful, you could feel the exact shape of every spring,which popped into your back as you turned. The leg on our bed was strained inward and I was afraid it would snap.Inside the room the paint was chipped on all walls,a layer of dust outlined the perimeter of the carpet and a piece of paper was sticking out from under the bed, there was a hole in the centre of the radiator. The room was hot went to open the window for air and as I moved the curtain 3 dead flies fell from them.The bathroom door had no lock and kept opening,the bathroom had been renovated so didn’t feel as gross as the rest of the room-until I sat on the loo and a drop of brown water from the spot light over my head fell on my white shirt,this continued to drip constantly so we had to put a towel down on the floor in case my elderly mother fell. Just to point out,im not usually one to pick faults
Forgot to mention the clogged sink.

Beliggenhed var rigtigt god. Personale var imødekommende. Rengøring var meget dårlig specielt på toiletter ved restauranten og komforten på værelset var dårlig her tænker jeg på madrasserne.

Great location. Single bed too narrow. Good bar. Separate taps for sink hot and cold bad idea, could not mix to achieve a reasonable temperature. Decent sized room.

Helt ok, man merket det var preget av gammelt. Litt artig at det var speil i oppholdsrommet, men ikke et på badet. Kunne også kommet innom å fylt på toalettpapir, nye håndduker osv. Kanskje de ikke bruker å gjøre sånt i UK, men va litt kjedelig å spørre om mer toalettpapir i resepsjonen.

We were left with little choice when having to book this accommodation after being told our previous one was no longer a hotel. Upon arriving here we were in a que of at least 40 people leading out of the reception. This then caused checking in, to take over 30 minutes even with the online check in. The rooms were poorly maintained with wallpaper hanging off the ceiling, a dirty sink and walls. Definitely not worthy of the £220 price tag

Great central location, staff were friendly & helpful. Only thing missing was a Smart TV & the hot water in the shower took a long time to warm up.

Room was a good size, bathroom not very clean. Leaking sink tap, cold water not working in bath/shower. Main bedroom light not working, only one lamp working. Fast track for “already checked in” took 30 minutes. Would have been quicker to use main reception

the bed and pillows were rock hard. you had to step into a bath to have a shower and the water from the shower head sprayed all over the place and the water was lukewarm. the tap made a shuddering noise and spat the water out. you could hear that they have a problem with the plumbing. the restaurant was not open in the afternoon and didn't open until 6pm, which was too late as i was going to see a show the awful smell as you came out of the lift was disgusting and smelt of damp and this is a hotel that gets bye on it's past reputation. this hotel wants to start listening to customers and start spending money on refurbishing the property. i was also put in a room that was at the end of the building quite a distance from the lift. In the future i would rather pay a bit extra and stay somewhere better than stay in a hotel that is substandard

Huge queue at checkin. Very disorganised. Terrible room, poor mattress, dirty sink, dreadful decor and furnishings in bedroom. Reception room really lovely.

We stayed 2 nights Friday to Sunday for a big birthday weekend. Originally booked 3 basic rooms. The basic rooms very basic and compact so we decided to ask for an upgrade. The upgraded rooms at a nominal cost were very grand and spacious, worth the extra money. The rooms were warm, clean, a bit dated though. The bathroom was modern with a very nice walk in shower.. The hotel downstairs is very grand, the bars are nice and reasonably price. The Hotel is ideally located for walking to all the main attractions in the city centre. First time visiting Liverpool on a social trip, wlll stay there again. Lots of negative / poor reviews on here, don't be put off by them. One final thing, a big thank you to the staff who very helpful throughout our stay.

£350 per night for a cold room with no heating.mold round the windows reported heating every night no one came. Awfully dirty mess outside window on roof .terrible dirty filthy view. Reception not helpful at all.and £10050 for 3 nights and no cleaners!!!!!! Terrible
