One Night in Montgomery
Beautiful restored historical building with exceptional rooms with high ceilings and more than spacious rooms. Very close to downtown sites, museums and eateries. Front desk staff was very helpful, welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely recommend staying there again.

Don’t hesitate booking!
This is my second stay with them. That should say enough. If not, I will let it be known that the staff’s friendliness is top tier. The room was spacious and spotless. Location, location, location! It is conveniently located downtown. Great food choices, bars, etc. And I absolutely love the history and design in this particular establishment.

No Operable Toilet
Checked in at 5p. Toilet did not flush. Hotel unable to change room because hotel was full. Traveled from 4th floor to main lobby's public restroom all evening, night and the next morning. Toilet inoperable until 3p the next day. UNACCEPTABLE at $300/night!! Received NO monetary discount for the grave inconvenience, unsanitary condition and lack of privacy! UNACCEPTABLE at $300/night.

The first room I was in had black bugs roaming around the sink after the first night they moved me to a second room that night I noticed but the toilet in that room did not flush properly.

My first experience was somewhat a little less than perfect. Upon arrival I wasn’t aware that there was no parking deck. There was paid public parking only 2 hrs at a time but they did offer valet parking for $20 overnight. I knew we would be coming and going during it visit to Alabama so we public parked. Anyhow once I entered the room i realized housekeeping and maintenance need to step up to the plate. The toilet seat was almost off it was so loose, the couch was very nasty and stained and the television in the sitting area wouldn’t turn on. I was accommodated by moving to another room but that couch was nasty also. I always bring a flat sheet of my own to place on the couch anyway so I was glad I didn’t forget one. The hotel is so pretty and the staff was professional and very nice. The MOD was very accommodating and happy to resolve our issues with a smile. The location is perfect. It sits in the middle of many attractions and restaurants. Safe environment. I slept like a baby and like I was at home. It was quiet and the halls were very clean. Whenever I visit Alabama I will stay here again.

There were several issue: (1) couch and carpet did not seem to be very clean; (2) the shower door was not closing, and thus the bathroom floor got a significant amount of water with every shower; (3) the hairdrier did not work because the red safety button was out and did not reset; and (4) the AC did not work correctly. The last issue was substantial. When the climate control was set to Auto or to Cool, there was no stopping of the system. Even when it reached the correct temperature, it continued to keep the fan on, at its maximum level (regardless of the fan settings -low, mid, or high had the same outcome). For example, we set cooling to 71 F and it was constantly going down to 69 F. The fan was relative loud, and I measured 45-48 dB (when I switched it off, by switching off the climate control, the room was silent, at 22 dB). The heating was switching on and off, but when I set the heating to 71 the room went up to 77, even if it was about 36 F outside. When I told the reception about this problem (on the first night), they first said that the fan never stops. The following morning, I asked a different member of the staff, and she said that she would have sent someone to check it, or else she would have changed room. When we came back in the late afternoon, there was the same staff member of the first night, and he said that nobody told him anything about the room and so it must have been OK. Unfortunately, it wasn't, and we slept two nights with the background noise.

The decor was excellent. However, there was only one wash cloth and no other bath room linen when we checked in. There was no additional blanket for the sofa bed. Staff at the front desk, while pleasant, said they had no additional linen at the time.

The staff was lovely, but the room was very strange. After being given a room with a window facing an inner hallway, we asked for a room with a real window. We got one with a window facing the inner atrium, and we had to keep it closed because we were looking into other guests' rooms nearby. The HVAC fan is disturbingly loud. The TV is wall mounted between the bed and the couch, and though you can pull it out and angle it a bit, it is awkward to watch either from the couch or the bed. A very poor design. Why do hotels provide only one luggage rack for a double occupancy room? The breakfast was adequate, but as is so often the case these days all the food was way way too salty. It seems exploitive to only offer valet parking. Let guests park themselves in the same nearby lot, which is unprotected anyway. Positives: A short, pleasant walk to the Legacy Museum, and about 20 minutes to the Peace and Justice Memorial.

It was a very nice room and a great location for downtown Montgomery. However, the staff was non-existent, and when I checked in, the front desk rep was not helpful or remotely friendly; he basically acted like I was inconveniencing him.

The room was nice with the high ceiling but the bathroom was too small. The problem was with the cleanliness of the room. There was a balloon stuck in the top of the ceiling that moved around when the heat was on. There was hair on the bathroom floor. There were old urine spots under the commode seat that we had to clean because it took to long for housekeeping to come and clean. There was a Q-tip on the floor and the floor looked like it had not been vacuumed. The TV remote did not work and had to be replaced and the TV picture was poor quality. The bed cover had dirt spots. I reported it to the gentlemen at the front desk and he gave me a clean one to put on myself. Upon retuning to the hotel from an outing in the early morning, there were people standing around and the lobby and it smelled like they had been smoking Marijuana. There was also a person laying on the sofa in the lobby with a blanket. Oh, and the breakfast was average at best. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk at checkout did ask about the stay and offered a discount for the inconvenience. She was very nice and very helpful.
