This was the first time staying at the Lake House having stayed at many other properties in lake placid. Location is great and the grounds are well kept, the rooms are a bit to be desired. We stayed in room 620 which was on ground floor and was the furthest away from the high peaks resorts where all the amenities actually are. When we asked to move to a closer room and hopefully on the second floor, we were told they were basically fully booked and couldn’t accommodate. This was clearly not the case as the hotel was basically empty all week given the max 5 cars we saw parked. The room from afar looked ok but once we settled in there was hair in the shower, obvious vomit marks in washroom walls, shower head was rusted, chairs outside were also rusted and paint all chipped off. The pool advertised in the lake house was not the pool in the building but across the street. The pool at the lake house should be closed to the public until they update and fix degrading floor and grates. We did not swim there for obvious reasons. The other pool was really nice and worth the walk over. Kayaks and paddle boats were a nice touch though which was part of the waterfront hotel location which well maintained. We got the impression that because we booked with Expedia we were put in a discount room. Just my thoughts, I have pictures of everything I just can’t post on this review platform
