Very good but room for improvement
Really good stay overall. Facilities very good as usual but some areas can get quite busy especially as the hotel and the restaurants attract plenty of day trippers and people redeeming experiences like afternoon teas, etc. Room very clean. Breakfast - plenty of choice although quality has declined somewhat I feel compared to before (especially the made-to-order cooked meals). Staff generally good but could be more proactive and less 'robotic' and more authentic in interactions. Can be hard to get through to the main desk/reception a lot of the time over the phone because of (apparently) how busy they are - experience for everyone would be better if this was addressed. The first port of call for many queries shouldn't be inaccessible like this. It's an iconic, top notch facility but just needs to eschew complacency in order to not let their 'world class' slip.
