Although I have stayed at 5 star hotels on several occasions, I was amazed by the standard of service of this hotel. All the hotel staff were extremely polite and gave the true meaning to the word "valued" customer. From the first time I entered the hotel it was a different experience all together. Despite the good service at other 5 star hotels, I could always find a small detail missing. I am not picky, but when it comes to top service I know what to expect, and notice when something, as small...

Can't get a better location, near to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, Buckingham Palace...the hotel itself is immaculate, the double room was of a reasonable size, the bed so comfortable and bathroom well appointed. Shower was excellent, complimentary drinks on arrival and cookies and cranberry juice / water in the room. Downsides..not many, view was terrible and there was a slightly unusual smell in the room which you only really noticed first entering.

After spending 3 nights in a 4.4 Expedia rated hotel in Kensington where we greeted with unchanged bed sheets, stained matresses, and more, we left and went to the Andaz. Here, you can shower well, the beds are immaculate and there is a tube station right next to the hotel. This is definetively where we will stay next time. Thank you, Andaz!

First impression of the hotel was not great as the lobby and lift are very small. However I am happy with the room and found the staff extremely helpful generally. It’s great to hear the staff telling American tourists about the history of royalty :)

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in London
Book for the cheapest times: London offers great value for money on a budget, especially when visiting from January to March. During these months, hotel prices may drop to lower prices, making it an affordable period to explore this vibrant city. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal for discovering London’s rich history, remarkable architecture, and engaging cultural attractions, including theatres, museums, urban art scenes, historical monuments, and even shopping districts. This period is perfect for those seeking budget-friendly travel without compromising on the chance to experience the city’s iconic landmarks and cultural treasures.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For travellers heading to London, Hotels.com offers Dealsopens in new window that may provide great savings on hotels, while the Last-Minute Deals section could reveal discounted rooms near your travel date. You’re more likely to see flash sales via email alerts or push notifications. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available on the app helps you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re informed if prices drop or availability changes.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a London hotel. For those seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personal touch and may offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your selected dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially find a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with London's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
