It’s a bed and breakfast style with shared bathroom with no elevator and no air conditioning. If you are in a budget, this will do. No staff around after you checked in. You have to call them if you need anything. Location is quiet and safe. Bus station to the city center is in front of the hotel. During our stay, we did not have to wait to use the bathroom.

We found the place easily. Parking was fine. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was small but fine for a night. The bed though was made with an old, dainty iron frame. It creaked a lot at the slight movement. Public transportation is nearby. We even walked back from downtown Edinburgh.

It didn't look anything like the pictures. The room was not clean, there was rubbish under the bed and the kettle was not usable. The bus stop was two minutes away and it was also walkable from the center, so location is good, and also the lady checking us in was nice. The location is conveniently located on the bus route to the city centre but we chose to walk the 2km into town. We didn't have a fridge in our room but the hosts agreed to freeze some water bottles for our cooler bag. We didn't have towels and cups for all of our group but they were provided when requested. The beds were comfortable but the bathroom needs some maintenance attention. Our shower head functioned but the spray unit kept falling off. Overall it was fine for our three night stay.

The hostess, Saghira, went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable during my stay. She was the perfect hostess and responded straight away when I contacted her for assistance. The property itself is located near bus stops that take you straight to the heart of the city centre. It's an easy 10-15 minute bus ride. The property is clean and homely. The bathroom is routinely cleaned. I have enjoyed my stay at the Edinburgh Travel Guest House and if I ever return, I will make sure to book my stay with them again!

The guesthouse is a great place to stay if you’re on a budget or even just in Edinburgh for a short period of time. It’s about a ~30/45min walk to central Edinburgh, however it is right off of the local bus lines which made it very easy to commute in/out of the city. The room was spacious with plenty of storage, had a tv/fridge/and tea kettle, and the bed was comfortable and big enough to share between two people. The bedroom door was thick enough to where it was hard to hear people in the hallway talking, but you could hear other doors opening and closing. The shared bathrooms are convenient to each room, but I would recommend bringing shower shoes to get from place to place. The bathroom itself was very clean. The two negatives I had of the bathroom were low supply of toilet paper and soap at times and the water pressure was very low. It would be a struggle to wash your hair if you’re a female. Overall, we had a great experience for the cost, service, and expectation of the Guesthouse.

Old building has a lot of character. Location is good. Our room had a consistent noise from the plumbing everytime someone used water in our/neighboring rooms it the grinding pump noise was loud. Various cosmetic issued in the room. However, available parking (albeit tight) was a super bonus!
