Center of the County

Pleasant B&B. Very friendly hosts, with lots of knowledge about the area and things to do. Breakfast is the best. Fresh-made muffins each morning, with lots of delicious coffee and breakfast made to order. I would definitely stay there again.

Hosts were wonderful, gave us info on nearby towns, breakfast was amazing, the house is like a museum, 100s of antique irons. Would definitely stay here again.

Hostess with the mostess

Kevin and Kate are the hostess with the mostess! The Inn is quaint! Kevin gave us lots of things to do/see while there and Kate fixes and amazing breakfast. They are so kind! Who needs a hotel when you can stay with locals that know their way around! What a wonderful experience!

What a wonderful stay we had at the Old Iron Inn B&B! The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. It was very comfortable! The breakfasts were Devine! The muffins delicious-Kate is definitely the muffin queen for a reason! The eggs were fresh from the farm…Really my husband hasn’t stopped talking about his omelette since we left! But the most wonderful thing about our experience at this B&B were our hosts! They were welcoming, warm and great to talk to! We totally enjoyed our stay here and would recommend them highly. Thanks so much Kevin and Kate for a wonderful experience!

It’s very homey with lots of character. A simple sign in, a time for breakfast in the morning that will be home cooked?! Love it. It’s like staying with my grandmother and grandfather.

Wonderful experience

Extra pleasant experience. Host, comfort, and meal are special and they made us feel special. They stock brochures for the attractions to help guests visit interesting sites. Delightful conversation and comfortable rooms. Wonderful place to stay.

Loved all the irons. Friendly hosts. Great breakfasts! Loved each room had it's own bathroom. Quiet. Very clean. Great location.

Attractively unusual and old-fashioned. The couple that own it, Kate and Kevin, are very gracious and welcoming. Beyond the interesting eccentricities,  we had a lovely night sleep and deliscious breakfast filled with interesting conversation. We will stay here anytime we visit the area.

We liked it all! Kevin and Kate have a wealth of knowledge having lived in the area for over 30 years. Kevin’s unique collection of vintage irons (the inspiration for the name of the charming place) and Kate’s fabulous breakfasts made for a fun and relaxing weekend. Our room was quaint and comfy and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. This was my first trip this far north into Maine but we will definitely plan to be back!
Mark, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Staff was accommodating and friendly. Good breakfast especially the peanut butter muffins. Wish there had been a couple of comfortable chairs in our room. Interesting collection of old irons and antiques.

A gem in a small town.

The hospitality is unmatched. They were so nice and sweet, I would go back just for them! Then the inn itself was so unique and cozy! Antique irons on display, the rooms feel so nostalgic and then the breakfast. Great food and service. Coffee, orange juice, milk, sausage, toast, pancakes, and muffins. There is a reason the sign says muffin queen! Truly an amazing experience.

Fantastic bed and breakfast. Don't bother staying at the big hotel chains. I frequently come to the area for work and I was routinely going to the big hotel chains. I wasn't happy with my experience and thought I would give Old Iron Inn B&B a try. I was not disappointed. Kevin and Kate are amazing hosts and will go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. I will definitely be back and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a pleasant experience in the area.

Not too good to be true. It is!

What a gem! Rooms full of antiques. Coffee, tea, snacks available 24/7. Choose your breakfast including homemade muffins and breads every morning. Very helpful owners with suggestions of where to go, where to get dinner, and an offer to come get us if we got stuck out in the rain while biking. Where else would that happen! You can’t go wrong staying at this inn.

Highly Recommend

This was our first experience booking with Hotels.com. We have always stayed in the local hotels. We were shocked by the current prices of the hotels that had available rooms. We were familiar with the hotels as we had stayed on previous visits to the county and knew the quality of the hotels did not merit a $200 per night stay. We decided to take a chance on this private residence and were pleasantly surprised. The bed was comfortable, room very clean and breakfast made to order was very good. We will definitely book this again on our next to the county.
