Hidden Gem

Will stay here here again and again. Clean rooms, super clear pool, staff were extremely helpful, if you need anything just ask. 30 sec walk to the ocean. I was down for Thunder at the Beach, never worried about my bike or nothing. Absolutely will stay here again

Very affordable. I have stayed here many times over the last 30 years. The age shows its wear. I would recommend to anyone who is not seeking a premium quality room. Its somewhere to lay your head and take a bath. Location is in the middle of everything.

This is an older beach property that has been well cared for. No iron or ironing board was a problem for me. The location was excellent right across from the beach. My wife didn’t care for the mattress since she has back issues. All in all we enjoyed our stay there and would consider it again.

I didn't like the bath room window did not have a curtain. Made a private room seem not so private. Staff was very kind! They allowed us late check out last minute free of charge. The pool and property were well kept. Its less then a 2 min walk to the beach, food and shops.

Clean but quite run down.

*Warning-avoid the pool steps. See below.* There was some good and some bad. We knew going in that we chose a cheaper place in order to save some money to be spent elsewhere. For the price, it is fairly as expected. When we arrived, there was a small mix up on our reservation but the office lady handled it well and ended up giving us a different room closer to the beach than expected, which was nice. The rooms were clean, however in need of some maintenance and pick-me-up. The hot water faucet in our shower leaked non stop (room 3 at Lolleys) creating boiling water spewing out constantly while you showered. Our first night stay, we took a quick late swim before the pool closed and my daughter ended up slicing the bottom of her pinky toe off on the steps on the shallow end. There are porcelain tiles broken on the edge of the steps creating sharp spots. I did bring it to the offices attention and was told "they've been meaning to fix that". The maintenance gentleman I spoke with was kind and caring and offered any help needed. Overall, an okay place to stay for the lower cost, just keep in mind its pretty run down.

Great location, Nice room, a little outdated.

We had a nice stay. We loved that it was a very short walk to the beach and a very short walk or drive to everything we needed or wanted while on our trip. Parts of our room were a little outdated, but functional. There are a few things that could be better with little cost. 1. Add a tall mirror. I am short and the mirror in the bathroom was pretty high. 2. Raise the shower head. My husband is 5'8" and he had to duck to use the shower. 3. Use brighter LED bulbs in some of the lights. Our room was pretty dark. Because our room was on a main floor right in front of the parking lot I did not feel comfortable opening the curtains so we had to rely on the lights, but they were not bright enough. 4. Add a comfy living room type chair. I wanted a comfortable place, other than on the bed, to sit and read a book.

We knew this was an older property however, we didn’t expect it to be so rundown and in need of repair. Air conditioner was old and so loud we couldn’t sleep. Bathroom light was out, bathtub clogged, so many things not working/broken. Worst part was the beds were so uncomfortable. Flat pillows. Towels had hair in them. We debated whether to leave and go elsewhere because we didn’t get any sleep but we’d already paid in full.

My family and I enjoyed our vacation stay at Colonial Shores. Owner upgraded our room at no additional charge and without me even asking. Would have given 5 stars, but bathroom fan did not work and fold out couch mattress was stained. Asked Manager not to fix during our stay. As nice as they were, I am sure they were not aware of the problem and have since fixed both problems. Will stay here again and would recommend to friends.

We loved this place! It was in a great location where it is quiet, it’s steps from the beach, and the pool was great! Colonial Shores is basic, but nice and clean. There is nothing fancy about this hotel but, that’s how we like it! We walked in and were shocked at what we got for the price we paid. It was a little outdated but it was clean and we had everything we needed. We were also able to drive to anything we wanted within 10-15 minutes. We will definitely be back to Colonial Shores!!!

Very nice “mom and pop” place. The maintenance man was super nice. Place was clean. Definitely needs some updating, but no fault to him. He was working everytime we seen him. OWNER needs to update. We would stay here again.

Not bad

This was advertised as a no-frills motel. Although dated, it actually had a small refrigerator, a microwave and and a cabinet with a sink. Again, the decor was dated but the room was clean and comfortable. The motel doesn't offer in room cleaning but it wasnt a problem for us. You take your dirty towels to the office and get clean ones. We were there for a motorcycle rally so we spent very little time in the room but we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. As long as you aren't expecting the Taj Mahal and realize that what you're getting is basic, you should be fine. Again, it was clean and no bugs so it worked fine for us.

Clean! Comfortable! Convenient!

An older "vintage" motel with pool, located across the street from beach. Safe. Quiet. Very clean! Comfortable mattress, fluffy soft towels. AC = window unit and is loud! Didn't bother us much but could be issue for others. Kitchen = microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, motel-sized fridge BUT only had 4 spoons and 4 coffee mugs so bring your own kitchenware. Would like to see more outdoor furniture: for each room & around the pool patio. Have stayed twice - would stay again, would recommend.

Wonderful place and staff- especially for the price. Area was amazing and it was a 2 min walk from the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

The place does need some updating. Staff are so friendly and will help you anytime you need it. Did see a roach in my bathroom. Overall it was just ok.

It was the most awesome place. 1950/60 motel on beach. Perfect place to do morning walks. 3 places to eat within .2 miles. Love the staff
