Aircon in room is not adjustable so when it gets very cold one cannot sleep. Room extremely small and for the room rate it's not worth it. Area around hotel is dirty. People at reception cold and have faces which is unwelcoming. Pay a bit more and stay at better hotels.
Reception people are just salary workers but act as if they are hotel owners. Why waste money staying at such places.
Standard room always without window. If you don’t serious about that, there is your good choice. There is very close from Jalan Besar and rochor mrt station. Nice!
Didn't have a great stay for a few reasons. We stayed on the 60th birthday of Singapore, which made the hotel very busy. The lobby was packed full of people and the staff seemed stressed out. The building is very old and needs a remodel. The bathrooms are very small, where you use the toilet and shower at the same time. Excessive use of bleach to clean the room made my eyes sting. The air con temp was hard to control so I was very cold during the night. I have stayed in a few of the Hotel 81 locations but this was the worst one. I wouldn't stay here again.

We found a nail in the bathroom!! And the hair on the sheets and those were also dirty, I’ll never recommend this place

Had a room without a window. It smelt musty. The room’s air conditioning ducts might need a good clean. The bathroom was a wet room, the layout meant that using the shower wet the whole floor as well as part of the sink and toilet bowl. The sealant on the walls in the bathroom showed signs of mould.
However, it was a good location and the reception area looked good. The staff were efficient and helpful. I would certainly consider staying in a Hotel 81 hotel again, but would probably opt for a room with a window.

1. Please provide box of tissues at sleeping room. 2. Provide a slipper for customer.
3. Provide a small towel for hand washing.
4. Please alert the customers to be quiet when they are at corridor.
