Home away from home
This place is a true gem. Carlos, Paula, Adriana and staff made sure we felt at home. The property itself is super nice and within 3-4 minutes drive from Monteverde center. Apparently they've renovated it only a year ago. It's very spacious and well maintained. Rooms are big, very clean, and well set for our arrival. They have a nice 3 km trail that goes around their property. What makes it truly special is the love and caring from Carlos and their staff. Carlos made some really good breakfast and accommodated our dietary needs. Turkish eggs that he made for us were best ever I had. All the fruits are from their garden and very delicious. We truly felt at home, so Gracias Carlos and family.

Delightful and Peaceful BnB
Casa Batsú offers an exceptional hotel experience in a small, personalized setting. From the moment we arrived, the front desk was attentive to our needs, welcoming us with drinks, helping us set up a guided night tour (we hadn't booked ahead of time), and explaining the "can't miss" sites in the area. In terms of amenities, Batsú boasts several comfortable sitting areas to lounge around and read, drink coffee, or just watch the many birds congregate on the surrounding trees. It also has a hiking trail on the property which snakes through the forest and then down into some pasture before looping back to forest. However, our daily highlight was the leisurely and delicious breakfast cooked by co-owner Carlos, and served outside next to the garden. When we return to the Monteverde area, will we undoubtedly stay at Casa Batsú.

First-rate host and immaculate property
Carlos was the most attentive host you could ask for. One evening, he spent about an hour talking with us about the history of Costa Rica. He's also a terrific cook and the breakfasts he made were the best we had over our 2-week trip. The rooms in the main house are very nice but a little funky. There's a skylight above the bed in one of them which meant waking up with the sun. And some rooms are directly off the lobby area, so not very separated, but the place is kept immaculately clean and it's in an excellent location for getting around Monteverde. Highly recommended.

Perfect. Not only did the staff wait for us as we were a late check in, but the room above and beyond what we were expecting. Everything was beautifully cleaned and well maintained, and the water pressure in the shower was especially perfect. In the morning, breakfast turned out to be the most amazing breakfast I’ve ever had! And I’m a foodie lol! The cooks deserved a standing ovation!! The gardens were also very well kept, and we enjoyed watching the butterflies and birds as we ate. Monte verde was also less than a few minutes away complete with a beautiful town. This is one place that you should be sure to put into your vacation, it was the most perfect start to our vacation, Thank you Casa Batsu!

Tout simplement parfait !
La chambre était simplement parfaite et le service attentionné. Tout le personnel est gentil, le petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux. Il s'agit du meilleur petit déjeuner de notre voyage. Le cadre est relaxant avec un beau jardin où de nombreux oiseaux s'arrêtent le temps d'un concert. Merci Casa Batsu pour avoir créer de merveilleux souvenirs dans nos têtes.

Carlos and his staff are wonderful. Imagine sitting on the proch at a fabulous breakfast watching tropical birds of all species just 20 feet away. This is one of my favorite places that I've stayed in all of my travels. Whatever you need, just ask Carols.

The host Carlos was incredibly helpful with arranging transportation and booking activities. One day he took us to a beautiful overlook himself. The breakfasts were filling, delicious and varied. One night Carlos cooked us a 4 course meal that was one of the best dinners we had on our entire trip. There were many pretty trees and flowers surrounding the outdoor patio. Every day we saw exotic birds that had come to feed there. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

Great stay at Casa Batsu
We had great time at Casa Batsu. Carlos made great breakfast and place is nice and clean.

Carlos and his family showed the best hospitality on this trip. His B&B was lovely and he told us to treat it like home and went out of his way to make sure we felt well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Best place ever
Wow! My partner joked that we shouldn’t write this, because she is afraid Casa Batsu will book solid for years to come. This was the loveliest place we could imagine. The breakfasts in the garden each morning are delicious and huge, and Carlos makes you feel so welcome. He will arrange for all your activities, rides, etc. The rooms are spacious and comfortable — and very clean. Sweet Rex the dog will greet you enthusiastically at the end of the day, and let you rub his belly while he grins and wiggles with delight. This is the place to stay.
