Wonderful 3 night stay, it's a busy pub but staff made us feel very welcome

Overall this was a nice boutique hotel. The rooms have a lot of character and a vintage feel, in a cool way. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities you could need. In a great area of London, lots of shops, pubs, restaurants, and public transit. The reason I give 4 stars is bc the check-in process is not quite 4star and the bathroom sink didn’t drain well.

Great stay in a quirky hotel

Lovely comfortable room with everything we needed and much nicer than staying somewhere more generic.

Great service! Not very clean-feeling

Stains on sheets and towels which made it feel not so clean. We saw quite a bit of ants in our room, one sink was constantly leaking and one turned off by itself after a few seconds.

The two rooms that we booked were so cute. The suite room had a couch and an outside patio which was very nice to have as we traveled with family. I loved that the bathroom as the tub had a claw tub and the ground was heated. It is a very charming and rustic. I would definitely go back.

Lovely little hotel, friendly staff, room was really nice with a comfy bed. Air con unit made a weird noise every now and then but apart from that couldn’t fault it

Nice set of rooms, private, well appointed, terrific shower, & great area. Looking a bit tired (marks on carpet, sink tap handle falls off) & no breakfast Sat morning till 8.30am a bit disappointing.

Food is great.. pub is great.. room is great but WiFi and TV let them down.
Carl, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The room was small but very charming. We only stayed one night, so it worked for us; however, if we had been staying longer, it would have been tight or cluttered with our suitcases and surface area to put your daily items, like a crossbody, wallet, etc. The bathroom was a good size as well. We were on the top floor, so getting luggage up and down really sucked. Even though I knew in advance the staircase could be an issue, it was still a shock to go up four floors with full-sized luggage! Oops! We got there early, and at any hotel, an early check-in is always a gamble, but I was a little surprised that they were so strict about the 3:00 pm check-in. Usually, if a room is ready early, you can access it sooner. Not a huge deal for us as we went straight into sightseeing, but if you are hoping to get in early, it is likely not possible. The staff were friendly and accommodating in holding our luggage in a locked area. We had a plumbing issue, and they resolved it right away, even though it was late at night. The pub was close to multiple subway stations, which was great. We unfortunately didn't eat or drink at the pub so can't speak to that.

Old fashioned property with modern facilities. Carpet could have been cleaner and the sofa had stains on it. Great location. Friendly helpful staff. I liked the place. I did break my toe on the bed leg but that was my fault not the hotels.
Sean, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I really liked the room we were presented with, bath in the room, mini bar well stocked and above a pub, which we stayed during the week and wasn't noisy at all. Robes in room and food downstairs, nice touch. Worth the money, the check in was easy, there was mild confusion with trying to take food up to our room for my daughter who was wanting to take a bath, but other than that is was a GEM of a stay and will recommend! The tea and expresso in room were complimentary.
Laura, 2-night trip

I'd say the reviews were a bit scrubbed or over rated. It was ok. Staff aloof. Not sure i'd stay again.

Its a neighborhood bar. No front desk, no security, no where to get out and walk. This shouldnt be on Expedia.

Delightful

This is a cute boutique hotel. It's part of the pub and takes you back in time to a different era. Our room was a charming suite with a copper bath tub, a skylight in the living room, and our own private patio with a living room setup. Rooms were romantic and comfy. We'll definitely return. Note, there are no elevators in this hotel. We were on the second floor so we only had to haul our luggage up one flight but that could've been more burdensome if we had to walk up another flight.

Fabulous!

We wanted somewhere near the Barbican hall 10 mins walk) We arrived to a packed pub & underwhelming checkin. But from there it was fabulous! Room lovely. Spotlessly clean, great decor & so comfortable. Aircon a bonus at my age lol. Wonky toilet seat part of 'quirky' ;) We ate in the pub, staff were so lovely & the food spot on. We sat in a little booth, it was cute. Wine good & all round great buzzing atmosphere. The walk to our concert was 10 mins. Coming back the pub was pretty much closed but the guys got us drinks to take up. Our room was so quiet... We didn't go for breakfast but can only imagine it wld be lovely. A really good option in the City & one we will definitely do again. Of course you can complain abt things however nothing spoilt our enjoyment of this stay! (Be mindful if you have mobility issues this is an old building, narrow stairs over 3 floors)
