The hotel was very good and the staff were very friendly, but the only issue was that it wasn’t possible to leave our luggage there.”

Weekend with family

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the room was not very big but adequate for a short stay. We were on the third floor not good if you have dodgy knees. Perfect location for everything we wanted to do. Friendly staff would stay again if we return to Amsterdam.

The corner house

Clean and tidy rooms but very small and no kettle to make a drink with, this forces you to go down to the hotel bar where you can purchase a teabag and water for €4.50 and very overpriced food The location was good as central but the downside of this was the rooms were very noisy, trams outside beeping until the early hours, luggage being clunked up and down the stairs all night and the hotel doors slamming shut then the scraping of the bars metal tables and chairs being moved outside. If you’re happy to have no sleep then stay here

We decided to have a 1 night stay in Amsterdam en route to Benidorm. This Hotel was highly recommended and affordable. It did not disappoint. Woukd definitely stay again.

very good location👍 near transportation, stores and restaurants. Even tho checkout is within the area of the restaurant, staff was very friendly and fast. They even hold our bags same day before check in and same day after check out. Thank you!

Great location but, Find somewhere else to stay

5 nights in room 3 (Earth). There is no 24/7 reception as advertised. In fact, there is no reception. There is a desk and computer in a corner of the cafe/restaurant. For any help you need to find a member of the serving staff. The staff themselves were friendly enough, but this didn't make up for the room/'hotel'. The room was basic. The toilet seat was loose and the toilet would run (noisy). The shower head was poor with water leaking from the frame of it rather than the nozzles. We were also without hot water for a fully night and day, and only when we complained in the morning were we told that it should have been sorted the evening before. It wasn't, but was sorted by the following evening. The bed was old and creaky and the walls thin. When any other guest closed a room door, the wall shook with it. (Also beware; steep stairs aren't for everyone) The room was cleaned every day. The room cleaning started at 0800 and the vacuuming of the nearby rooms ruins an opportunity for a holiday lie-in. In all great location next to Dam Square, but really poor for the price paid. My recommendation, find somewhere else even if it costs a little more.

It did the job

The room is tiny but did the job for a one-night stay.

It was better than I expected! We got a nice view of the New Church and the beds were comfortable. The location is very central - everything we wanted to go to was within walking distance. There is a little bit of noise but overall it wasn’t so bad - it could have been worse. Check in and out was pretty easy. We had a overall pleasant stay!

Charming Hotel in the Heart of Amsterdam

Great location, comfortable bed, nice room. Everything seems to be renovated recently. The stairs are not for the weak, especially with the suitcases. Fortunately we travel fairly light, otherwise it would be a problem. Overall, highly recommend.

Terrible. Customers opinions were not considered at all. Highly unfair treatment. Good day
Bukola, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The room we stayed in was nice and clean, just a little basic. Would of been better if there was a kettle and drink’s facility in the room. Also would of been more ideal for the Wi-Fi password to have been left in the room. Also the safe wasn’t working when went so a better place to store valuables would of been better.
Meg, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Clean but pokey rooms

Pokey little room up 4 flights of narrow stairs, such is the Amsterdam charm, but with heavy bags after a long journey it’s not ideal. The room was in the rafters so banging your head frequently is part of the experience! Staff were nice enough, but wouldn’t store baggage the next day, which was pretty inconvenient and not great for a hotel.
David, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Tiny, noise room. Felt claustrophobic. No heat in the middle of winter. Ended up catching a cold after three nights here in December. Also, water doesn’t drain well. Overall not worth it.

Good Hotel

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I was able to leave my bags while I was out before my room was ready. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Now, it was fine for me, but the room was very, very small. There is no air conditioning, but there is a fan in the room and it did the job. The bathroom is about the same size as the bedroom part of the room. The shower was great, no problem with hot water or water pressure. Also, I could not get any channels on the TV. It turned on, but then nothing. My room was on the 4th floor, all stairs - no elevator. It sounds like I am complaining, but I am not. I just want anyone who reads this to know what you might find. The hotel was in a great location. 20 minute walk from train station, 20 mins to Anne Frank house, 30 mins to Rijksmuseum. There are many, many, many bars and restaurants very close to the hotel.
Jon, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Beside that the room cleanliness was disappointing, and the room was very noisy, and the hotel is in the center of where major road constructions are undergoing; the staff could not make any effort to try to help find our wallet that we forgot inside the room on the bed and did not return it back to us. We did not loose but we FORGOT 2 small wallets on the bed, and we are sure that we left the wallets in the room. We called the hotel that same day we checked out , and explained the situation and asked if someone can check the room and keep the wallets for us to come back and take them. The person who answered the phone reported that he is only the night guard, and though the room is not occupied at the moment, but he can’t access it !!! We called the next day, and the person who answered also said that he can’t do anything about it. At the end multiple phone calls to the facility, and no one was helping . At the end , I emailed the property and their answer is that nothing was found and that they trust their cleaning staff. At the end, I would never come back to that hotel. I won’t trust leaving anything in the room, and if it happens that you forget something there, will have to consider it as gone. That’s not a place that I would ever come back to. Not to forgot to mention the poor cleanliness and noisy surrounding. Amsterdam is one of the nicest city I visited, but that hotel experience made our visit one of the worst because of what we went through with them.

Great location but could be better

Stayed here for a few days with my mum. The room was nice and made up as the requested twins but due to the shape of the room there was no way around the bed expect to step over the bed it’s or crawl over which isn’t great for my 82yr old mum. I had to split the beds up and rearrange them. The bedside tables are cheap and wonky so had to tighten up the bolts. The wardrobe door handle kept hitting the bathroom switch and the other door wouldn’t open due to the ceiling beam. Daily the bins were emptied and fresh towels left. The location itself was great for getting about although our room was at the front so heard a lot of the road noise.
