I spent two nights at Barsana. The non-vegetarian restaurant was incredible: because the service was so welcoming, kind, serviceminded, friendly and funny! The food was also delicious and the price was to be expected at a restaurant like this. The view was also wonderful and the restaurant decour.
The spa: I had a wonderful fullbody massage from a woman much shorter than me and so strong. They were so proffesional and kind here and I loves the steamroom afterwards and their little extra things in the changing room.
The hotell: housecleaning did an amazing job. Wow. The guard and doorman was also so attentive and as was the man who carried luggage, just wonderful!
One man in the reception arranged for me a taxi from the hotell to Darjeeling. But he was rude and he made me uncomfortable for asking questions about the price, the safety of the cartrip. It seemed as if he took my questions personal and was very rude back. I did not like this at all. And they charged me a lot for the carride and the driver did not get enough of the money, in my opinion.
Other receptionist, younger man, was friendly and polite. As a paying hotell customer there and a solo female traveller, I of course expect to be treated with respect and for staff to be polite.
The vegetarian restaurant at the hotell had delicious food, but again I was a little let down by the service staff. They seemed not so attentive to me and frankly they seemed a little distant or unhappy with something, I dont know.
