I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. After check-in, I struggled to find my room due to confusing signage and the odd layout, with stairs going up and down even after taking the lift. This made navigating the hotel quite difficult.
One particularly unsettling moment was when I encountered a large dog, apparently belonging to the hotel, roaming in a dark corridor. While it may be friendly to the owners, as a guest, it was frightening and made me feel unsafe. Something like this should not happen in a hotel setting.
The amenities were disappointing as well. There was no Wi-Fi, which is a basic expectation nowadays, and the breakfast was subpar. When I took a shower, the water spilled onto the bathroom floor due to poor water-tightness, creating an inconvenient mess.
On the positive side, the location is great—right in the heart of a cozy area, within walking distance to many attractions and opportunities. If you're just looking for a bed and shower at £130 per night, this might work for you. However, given that many other 4-star hotels offer similar pricing, I expected better service and comfort from this stay.
