Surprised in Estes Park Colorado
when we checked in the first room they gave us was under construction, clerk acted like he was unaware of that. Got into the second room through the sliding glass door on the back because the lock on the front door did not work. So after getting in we had to wait for the maintenance guy to come check out the lock and then wait because he ended up have to replace the lock.
There are no security features, each room has a deadbolt to get in and out. The same key fits the sliding glass door as the dead bolt. Keys do not say Do Not Duplicate, so keys could easily be made and the deadbolt is the only lock on the front door. No extra lock or security chain lock on the inside of the doors. No security lock from the inside on the sliding glass door either. We were in room 504 if that matters.
The bathroom door had to be left open at all times because no heat in the bathroom except from the room. The shelf in the bathroom for the towels was coming off the wall. There were no Kleenex in the room, no extra toilet paper. The pictures on hotel.com are very deceiving. The main picture shows a duplex looking building and it is really a drive up motel.
The good part of the room was it looks newly remodeled. Cleanliness leaves a little to be desired. We found dog food under one bed and small candy under the other.
