Best Value in all of Japan
Clean, comfortable and close to shopping district. Rooms are small but come with an excellent private bath. I stayed here 15 years ago and remember liking it more than the fancy $300 a night hotel room paid for by my employer for work nights. Now, if you need space or are traveling with children I probably wouldn't book but it is easily the best value for a comfortable room in all of Japan in my opinion.

We arrived midnight which was way passed check in time, we were greeted by the owner (if I'm not mistaken), check in was quick and smooth. Stayed for more than a week, cleanliness was upkept all the time. A small property but everything you need for travelling will be prepared. There are a few stations nearby which made getting around Tokyo hassle-free. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Wishing you all the best, will definately be back again!

The guesthouse is on a quiet side street just a couple of blocks from a bustling main street. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The rooms are very small but they are clean and quiet. There's no sitting area so the guesthouse works best as a place to sleep and to store your luggage so you can go sightseeing. It's a 10-minute walk from Senso-ji shrine, one of the biggest in Tokyo and a must-see.

Nice hotel close to Sensoji
Combinis nearby (7 Eleven, Lawson and Family mart), close to subway station so very convenient when carrying luggage. Good number of decent izakaya, sushi, Chinese and Italian joints around. Close to Sensoji, with a lively & nice market open on the weekend. Room itself was twin bed so not massive but good sized for 2 futons and room for 2 suitcases (brush up your Tetris skills otherwise). Room and bathroom in good condition - note that they show marks of age as the hotel is not a new-built. WC separate from the shower & tub (for 1 person at a time only), which we found convenient. 2 friends travelling together/stay of 3 nights. Would recommend this place for a short stay.

The best staff!
The place was pretty comfortable and in a great location. The staff were above and beyond. The man at the desk not only let us keep our bags there for hours but also took a full half hour of his time to help us find the bus that we needed to take and even wrote the directions out for us! I highly recommend this place!!

Reasonable hotel
The location is great. A few minutes walking take you to the main area in Asakusa where provide you fine food and gift shops. The room is small but clean and has good air conditioning and private toilet and shower and bath tub. I gave one star less because the room's impression looks old and no fansy at all but quite practical. It is quite reasonable hotel with this price.

Great value! Simple clean rooms perfectly situated
Great value for money! I was a little worried of what I’d be getting for such a low price, but all my worries were for nothing. It's a ryokan style room of tatami mat with a low table and a futon mattress. The rooms are a little on the older side, but everything was clean and there was even AC in the rooms. I slept great! The hotel is conveniently located, not very far from the metro, very close to restaurants, shops & temples, but also tucked away so it is nice and quiet. The staff at the reception were very nice, spoke great English, and even provided a map of the area with popular sites, shops and the hotel’s location, as well as indications on how to get to the most popular sightseeing spots. When I enquired about a site not indicated in their list, they happily provided a map of Tokyo and explained how to reach it! I was also able to leave my luggage after check out so I could keep exploring before my train. All & all a great stay! Highly recommend.

It is a nice place
It is a nice place, the hosts are friendly and if you use the train (instead of metro) it is just 3 minutes to the station. Everything is fine but it is a place for those who like to do everything lying on the floor - eating, reading, sleeping ...

Pleasant Stay At Toukaisou
Nice little hotel tucked deep into a quiet neighborhood in Asakusa area. The staff all speaks English. Rooms are properly maintained. We were especially like their tatami rooms with futon, they are both roomy and practical. Only minus point I can think of is the location from the closest metro station, Tawaramachi. It's about 7 min walk. The more connected station is Asakusa station, its further out at around 12 min walk. Luckily the walk to the stations were not boring as there are shops lining the roads. Would stay in Toukaisou again if we come back to Tokyo in the future.

Cheap & Cheerful
This Ryokan was a great price, and had everything we needed. There was a tap with drinking water in the hallway, and we loved the deep Japanese-style bath. The shower had great water pressure. However, no matter what we did, the room was hot and airless. We constantly had the window open, and had the air con on when we were in the room (not while we were sleeping as it was too noisy), but as soon as the air con was off the room returned to its sticky, unbreathable state. There's not really much the hotel can do about this, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay in the room for more than a couple of nights. The location is not particularly close to any JR stations, so bear this in mind if you're relying on a JR pass for transport.

Great value
We stayed here on our first night in Japan and it was a great introduction to Japanese style accommodation (futon bedding and a Japanese style bathroom). We were able to make a cup of tea in the room and comfortably store our luggage. It's in a nice area with some old narrow streets and close to a large temple. We found it great value for money.

Great price and Asakusa location.
Great communication and directions from hotel staff. I stayed in a single, which had its own bathroom, a rare find in the city. The room was small, but it was fine for me, and a tons of local eating establishments nearby. Sensoji temple a five minute walk away. Also a 24 hour Don Quixote (Donki) store nearby. I will definitely stay here again.
