Special location with all the amenities.

Very friendly, available and helpful. Accommodated my husband's knee issues by putting us on a floor which didn't require too many stairs. A very special location, right next to the entrance to the cathedral in a central square. The continental breakfast was outstanding with beautiful fresh fruit, yogurts etc. We enjoyed the little bar at the end of the day, where we could overlook the square in comfortable seats. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay in the centre of Canterbury

Central hotel full of character and charm. Staff in the afternoon/evening fabulous and very friendly. Bed appeared old and very uncomfortable.

Canterbury trip

We had a wonderful stay at the cathedral Gate hotel. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful. All in all a very pleasant experience on our first visit to Canterbury .

Quaint B&B in the heart of town

Warning: A lot of stairs! But if that's not a problem, this is a nice B&B in the middle of the town (can't get much closer than this). Great breakfast and friendly hosts.

Highly recommend

Very accommodating- nothing is too much trouble. Really helpful. Best hotel service I’ve received. Quirky little place. Rooftop outdoor seating. Central location. I’d definitely come again. 5* to Rob.

Great stay at the Cathedral Gate Hotel

Excellent location in the heart of the city, looking out on to the Cathedral from the back of the hotel. Good instructions from the hotel regarding parking and dropping off luggage. Parking was £13 for 24 hours in one of the council car parks which the hotel arranged for us. Breakfast was great, either continental which was included in the room rate, or Full English cooked breakfast for a supplement of £9.50 per person. Wi-Fi is free.

Warm welcome at the Canterbury Gate Hotel

I am a regular solo traveller to Canterbury and couldn't get a room at my regular B&B so i decided to try the Cathedral Gate Hotel as I often thought it looked like an interesting place to stay. I received a warm welcome on arrival and shown to my room which had a view to the bustling market square. My room was clean and comfortable. Canterbury has a lively, noisy nightlife which is to be expected in a busy city centre and earplugs are provided for those who require them! The continental breakfast was delicious and the croissants served straight from the oven were perfect. I loved the building which is around 700 years old with its sloping floors and rabbit warren like corridors! I am looking forward to my next visit to Canterbury and will definitely be booking into the Cathedral Gate, I had a great stay and it is just a 10 minute walk from the train station!

An amazing hotel due to the staff, highly recommend. Housekeeping were fantastic such attention to detail for a small hotel.great location but really staff and level of service makes this hotel exceptional.

Great location

Loved the location next to the cathedral and center of town. The room was fine, but was on the front street and was warm and loud with street noise at all hours. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room in the back. Great continual breakfast and helpful staff.

A unique stay in the heart of Canterbury. If you like to stay in accomodation that is not the usual hotel room you will enjoy this historic property. Right next to the Cathedral. Excellent breakfast. Clean and comfortable.

Charmigt hotell med väldigt trevlig personal. Hotellet är byggt på 1400-talet vilket innebär att allt, precis allt lutar åt olika håll. Golv, väggar och tak. Underbart men inte speciellt bekvämt.

Location Location Location!! Its 700 years old , it sits right infront of the Cathedral. The maze of stairs and rooftop walkway to my room with views is amazing . Bed was comfortable. Rob is entertaining and customer service was 100 stars. Please expect a 700 year old castle cottage experience, slanted doors and creeky floors.
