I have travelled all over the world and this hotel absolutely blew my mind in terms of location, stunning views, quality, great restaurant and the best and most friendly service you will ever find.
Our recent stay at Ashford Castle was wonderful experience. Everything from the food and drink to room comfort was excellent. The staff are the nicest and most helpful I have ever met on my travels.Free taxi (Range Rover) into the village is a nice treat!Overall it's an experience you should have at least twice your lifetime!
Set in extensive gardens this hotel was splendid. Comfortable and well appointed room, good lounge facilities, excellent restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and very friendly staff. We were made to feel at home and our dog was warmly welcomed.
I stayed at the property for two nights. The bed was about right for a single person in the room was quite small but impeccably clean as I understand. It’s very new. I tried to book again for the weekend, but the price was extremely high and I decided to go elsewhere. I found it fascinating that it was a digital check-in, but it was fast and efficient. Please note if you’re carrying luggage, you have to carry that upstairs if you’re older and your luggage is heavy that might be a consideration...
I cannot rate our stay at Ashville Guesthouse enough. Oliver and Hilary really made us welcome and we're very friendly, knowledgeable of local things to see and do and really wanted us to enjoy our stay. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was cooked to order, really tasty and plentiful.
There was plenty of parking and the hotel was a close to Wesport Town.
Unfortunately, our hire car was faulty and had to be replaced on the morning of check out. Hilary and Oliver...
We received a very warm welcome on arrival, and this continued throughout our stay - the reception and restaurant staff are excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious, many arranged around a courtyard garden and with mountain views.
We ate in the restaurant every night and found it to be excellent, with a varied menu. Other reviews are critical, but I'd take those with a pinch of salt. Sample menus are available on the website.

In a lovely setting, with lots of adventure stuff to do. These cabins are just brilliant. Lovely decor, comfy bed, smart tv and everything you need in the kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay. Check in was super easy!
Our room on the 2nd floor was quiet. Cozy even though it was spacious. The bed was super comfortable. Down at the far end of the hall, we didn't get consistent wifi signals, but that was a nice break from the digital world too. This was the best place we stayed in during our 8 days in Ireland and we'd definitely come back here.
They are still in the final building process. Rooms are new and comfortable at the back of the Castle. The main area and bar is authentic and comfortable. Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't working abd there was no food and it was hard to find someone for check in. Apart from that you can see where it is heading and should be a fantastic stay.
Hotel is a few miles outside Galway bay main resort but has lovely setting on seafront, with plenty parking, and provided nice breakfast, only issue was forgot to offer tea at breakfast
