A brief stop over for an early flight to avoid driving 4 hours in the early hours. With the hope to be refreshed and ready first thing. Hotel was booked many months ahead with a request for a close to reception room due to the wife’s mobility issues. When we arrived we got told we have a free room upgrade! Great we thought got given room 7220. Literally couldn’t have been any further away, it was the last room on an upper floor in the next county!! Carrying 4 suitcases with mobility issues was not easy. But after the long drive we decided not to use the facilities for dinner as the wife couldn’t make it there and back. So we just didn’t eat that night. Top that off with no sleep due to the bed having built in ejector seats. Honestly the minute either of us moved or turned over the other was ejected out the opposite side! Zero comfort, I ended up trying to sleep on the chair and foot stool, for which I possible managed an hour at best. I was completely exhausted for my early morning flight. Not worth the £177 I paid, think we would have slept better in my car in the long stay car park.
