Quality Inn & Suites
Seawall Boulevard, Galveston, Texas.
It was raining when we arrived but a large covered canopy leading to reception kept us dry and sheltered from the rain.
Greeted by friendly reception staff and our room fortunately was ready, and although 2 1/2 hours early.
The Check in process was very efficient for our three night pre-cruise stay.
Although the hotel is quite old, it has been kept up to date with nice decorations and spotlessly clean.
Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious with a balcony and partial sea view.
The room was well equipped (2 Queen accessible room) with a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.
The hotel is conveniently placed with numerous eateries nearby, together with a Kroger Stores within 300 metres.
The hotel provides a self service laundry which we used after our two week ‘Texas Triangle’ road trip around Texas.
The staff at the hotel were brilliantly friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, offering advice and tips when required.
Eating Places:
Doc Holidays
We ate a Doc Holidays which is directly next to the hotel and offers a superb range of food. My wife and I both ordered 10 oz sirloins which were terrific.
Corral Buffet
We also ate at the all You Can Eat Corral Buffet nearby - one block down the road. The buffet offers a wide choice of food, superbly presented and my wife and my choices were extremely tasty and we would thoroughly recommend it.
Transport Tip:
A trolley bus runs up and down the sea wall
