Recently stayed at what was supposed to be a 5-star Hilton property in Barbados, and it’s shocking how far below expectations this hotel truly is. From the moment we arrived, we knew something was amiss. The exterior looked run-down and rusted, giving the building a neglected vibe.
Once inside, the situation only worsened. The lobby décor felt outdated and grimy. The carpets appeared stained and rarely cleaned, and the smell of must and mold lingered in the air. In my room, there were clear signs of wear and tear: peeling paint on the walls, and rust on nearly every metal surface.
If you’re hoping the dining might compensate for the hotel’s disrepair, think again. The food was among the worst I’ve tasted in a so-called luxury establishment. The variety was minimal, and the few items available were either overcooked or frighteningly undercooked—hardly worth the elevated room price.
Overall, this hotel fell woefully short of the Hilton reputation and the 5-star classification. In need of major changes.
