We were here for my birthday weekend and this was our second time staying here (first time was about 12 years ago but we bounce around staying at different hotels in Center City once every few years). The location is fantastic… the hotel is sandwiched between Reading Terminal Market and a parking lot ($40/night with NO in/out privileges). There were a lot of places to go to within walking distance. Yes, comfortable shoes and uber were vital to our trip. Our room was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable. Also loved having a kitchenette. However, we were able to hear a lot of the outside noise throughout the day and night (our room was on the 7th floor facing Arch Street). No sound proof windows sucks.
No one was mean but the employees weren’t very welcoming. I had to wait for the two people at the front desk to finish their personal conversation before acknowledging us at check in. Every time we went in and out of the hotel, we never saw any of the staff members smile or even say good morning, nothing…
Also… many of the guests didn’t understand how to use the elevator. Way too many times we were about to enter the lobby elevator and there would be confused guests just standing there going up and back down, not knowing to swipe their room key to get the elevator door to open on their floor.
