What an excellent property!! It was immaculately kept with a wonderful friendly staff. I highly recommend Zorba. We will definitely return.

The staff (and ownership) at Zorba was extremely friendly and nice. The location is further down Boca Paila road near Nest, Nomad, etc. which has pros and cons to it. The traffic to get there is significant. To drive 5 miles (9km) back into town takes 35-45 minutes anytime of the day so not ideal if you’re going to explore the region. Tulum has changed a ton since I was last there 12 years ago as has the entire region. Many of the restaurants in the hotel zone are very boujee and overpriced. There are some
great restaurants like Nu and Itzik that are expensive but worth it. And then there are some cheesy restaurants that are a rip off and not worth it (Gitano). The crowd is similar. So many people taking selfies for their Insta-Cheese it was amusing. Tulum used to have a very low key beach vibe to it. There still is a little but the beach clubs and the blaring music and the crowds have taken over (even the hotel next door plays music all afternoon). It used to be very tranquil with beautiful beaches. Now the sargassum (which is seasonal - March to September is worse) is on steroids due to changes in the environment. When we left it was 20 feet wide, 2 feet deep and it smells while composting for days in the heat. Thus at a $1000/nt with taxes for the penthouse dealing with noise, traffic, crowds of Tulum, I wouldn’t go back to Zorba regrettably. At least not for a week. Maybe 2-3 days. Zorba by itself is great but Tulum unfortunately is not the magical spot it once was.
