I returned to The Lancaster Hotel after a great previous stay, but this visit was deeply upsetting. A simple question at the front desk quickly escalated into a situation where I felt misjudged, cornered, and treated with visible hostility by three staff members – including the manager, who was immediately aggressive in tone.
I remained calm and respectful, but their reaction was so disproportionate it felt surreal. I had just paid over 500 euros and found myself in a space where I no longer felt safe, welcome, or even seen as a guest.
The worst part wasn’t the extra charge – it was the feeling of being pushed into submission through intimidation. Whether intentional or not, the energy was aggressive and alienating.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable in a hotel environment. I left feeling shaken and would never return.
