Upon arrival I found the hotel desk staff to be friendly, informed and fluent in English. Helpful with information and the amenities of the hotel. The lady responsible for cleaning my room was very efficient, keeping my room clean and supplied. She, also, spoke English and honored my simple request for more coffee. The buffet breakfast was some what expensive but made up for that by stuffing myself, no lunch needed. There were plenty of elevator banks to handle the customers!! Even during rush periods there was practically no wait for an elevator.
If you like walking you will like KL. Their road system quality is good, but, the roads never quit winding. Petronas Towers are 7km, straight line, from Melia. Walking is about 15km,,,if you know directions. Take the MRT and don't wander around unless, you like walking. I do. 54-57km in 5 days. But, lots of this walking was not wanted. The roads constantly dead end and have to retreat. I wound up climbing over 4 security walls one day as I wanted to walk EAST from my position. Impossible. Lots of canals in KL, roads follow. smaller roads off main road, these dead end w/o notice. change direction,, same event occurs. Take a taxi if you don't like walking. By the way, there is no good beer in KL.
