Very nice

Beds very comfortable. Dependent on your room location you might hear Street noise so earplugs might be needed for some people. The seating in the main Reception Area could use a refresh but the seating area in behind the reception area with the fireplace is very nice and enjoyable to spend the evening visiting with friends. The shower temperature and spray is very good. the bathroom is small but is workable. An extra hook in the bathroom and a couple extra hooks in the large closet that we had would be helpful for coats.

This is a perfect location. The cable car is right there and Union Sq shopping & dining within 2 blocks. The staff is outstanding. This is a beautifully renovated SF hotel. The historic old world charm has been retained with totally updated rooms. Bathrooms are high-end and beds are extremely comfortable. This will be our go to hotel in SF.

Very small room with twin beds at back of building so no traffic noise. Air con and a ceiling fan. Helpful front desk. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate in lobby. 711 across street and a Walgreens. near Union Square and on cable Car line. Near Chinatown.

The staff is excellent and accommodating, which made up for the fact that I was initially put in a room just above the very noisy street. The staff made every effort to put me in a quieter room, which made all the difference. I loved the vintage character of the hotel, nicely renovated with modern features, especially the common areas (such as the lounge with the fireplace). The coffee provided in the morning was an added nice touch!
