Let me start this off by saying that I am not a “backpacker” type traveler. I prefer staying in hotels if/when I travel. However, compared to the other few hostels that I have ever stayed in, this one misses the mark. These are my reasons:
- the bedding is not 100% clean. I often find stray hairs tangled in the knit bed cover
-housekeeping does not clean the showers. Debris, hair strands, old razors, half used/empty shampoo & bidy wash bottles, dirty towels and used sticky bar soap all sat in the bathroom for weeks. I asked the housekeeper if they clean showers and she spoke no english
-theres no rules or regulations governing what happens in shared rooms. Ive stayed in rooms where people seemingly do what they want-turn off the AC units or turn the temp up to 75 degrees, or hang their wet clothes from the AC unit obstructing air flow. Miami is a hot & humid city so lack of air flow is very uncomfortable for me. Many of the people that stay here do not speak english so trying to explain any of this is a waste of time or can lead to argument.
-there are no fresh towels in the room obviously. You must go get a fresh towel from front desk.
-no room service, kitchen or microwave to use
I only stay here because its cheap. Front desk staff try their best but this property needs major improvements..
