Yucky hotel
Cleaning the rooms was very low priority at this place. Front desk told us at check-in that they only clean every other day. Hmmm. Haven’t heard that one before. But on our third (and last) day there, our room still hadn’t been cleaned by 5 p.m. Front desk would not send someone to clean the room, and they were argumentative and hostile. There was no manager on site, they said. That’s when we just got out of there, to another hotel, forfeiting what we’d already paid for that night.
The sheets were tissue-thin, as were the lumpy pillows, and the bed was creaky and uncomfortable.
Also, our first morning there, in “Coconut Charlie’s”breakfast room, the waiter asked if we wanted to sit at a high table. We said we’d like a regular table. The waiter turned away, saying “F—k!” Not muttering it, saying it loud and clear. First time in my life I’ve heard a waiter talk like that. He also was nasty to another customer who apparently didn’t order quickly enough.
