Batubelig Beach is a black-sand beach between Seminyak’s Petitenget Beach and Canggu’s Berawa Beach. It's within a half-hour drive north from Seminyak’s main dining and shopping hubs. You can walk down to the beach from some of Petitenget’s famous hangouts, such as the Potato Head Beach Club.

The beach is known for its calm atmosphere and beautiful sea views, slightly removed from the busier crowds to the south. Even so, you can still find some sections along this beach dotted with funky bars where you can enjoy great sunset vibes, cocktails, and cool beats played by the DJs.

Enjoying Batubelig Beach

Batubelig Beach is a good spot for relaxing and sunbathing on the warm, dark sand. But the waves can be rougher here compared to Kuta and Legian, with tides usually pounding the shore hard. This and some strong undercurrents often make it unsafe for swimming.

Daytime beach activities include kite-flying and volleyball, while the whole picturesque west coast is a favourite route for horse riding from the stables in Canggu. During the monsoon season (usually between December and February), you can expect some occasional flotsam and jetsam due to westerly winds. Sunsets are magical and, after chilling out at a bar, dining options abound along the main street of Jalan Batubelig.
