It was really nice to stay in Salerno as our base to see the Amalfi Coast. The town was lovelier than I expected and so convenient to everything we needed. It was also less crowded and made for a relaxing return after a tourist crazy day.

Salerno exceeded our expectations. Thought it was just a port city but it was nice to walk through, lots of restaurants. Not nearly as many tourists as Sorrento (that's a good thing).

Salerno was a very convenient (5 euro, 40 minute train to Naples) and cheaper alternative (7 euro boat tour along the Amalfi coast) to visit the Amalfi coast

Salerno is not only a great base to explore the Amalfi coast but also both Pompeii and Paestum are an easy train ride away for exploring incredible archeological sites. You have numerous choices for evening dinners plus Salerno has some great sites o

Ideal base to stay for sight seeing including Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. Less crowded than other cities such as Naples or other cities along the cost such as Positano, Amalfi or Ravello

The public transport is a disaster when the boats are not sailing. We waited in a huge queue for over four hours for a bus and gave up plans for Amalfi.

Great food, great service and very welcoming people. I would recomend salerno
"Staff was so sweet a woman checked us in as she was so great! It had a beautiful view overlooking the town of Salerno in the balcony i wish we stayed longer haha. We booked here since it was close to the station and the port.
We walked at night from the other port of Salerno and I felt so incredibly safe the city was alive with people walking and eating. It was a beautiful beach town , the summertime seemed to make everyone happy. Room was tall with a high ceiling we had a gorgeous sunrise . Also thanks to hotel for letting us check in a little earlier that helped so much since we had a ferry to Amalfi early. For my first time in Italy and Salerno and it was a memorable experience."
"The staff were wonderful truly excellent hospitality from start to finish. The hotel itself was a solid 10/10 in every aspect: service, cleanliness, and overall comfort. The location is unbeatable ,close to everything, especially the train station and the ferry port, which made getting around super easy. Breakfast was a highlight as well, with great options and service running until 10:30. Highly recommend!"
"The Grand Hotel is abundant in everything 😍 great location, a 5-10 mins walk to ferry port (usually amalfi coast boats i.e. Travelmar). Centrally located to everything such as beach & town centre. Lovely walk to Lungomare Promenade!
