I do not really review anything, but I think I’d be my remiss not to mention this absolute gem of a hotel we found. Service, food, the hotel, cleanliness and just general guidance about the city - you name it and you’ll get it. Mr Upadhyay is a gem of a person and really sorted out tour in Varanasi!
Much better than Radisson where I’ve stayed 2 nights - if you find this hotel, do t skip - you’ll be pleased

A great little hotel for big events like weddings so on. We found the rooms small but comfortable and clean. Nicely situated on a main road between airport and Boydgaya. Any foreign visitors beware. The tu-tu from hotel to market (Domuhan) costs 10 ruppies for locals but 100 for you. There are no bus, uber or ola, so figure this in your budget. If you fancy Indian curry the resort's own restaurant could step in competently. When we were there it chaotic and dusty outside deal to heavy road works...

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Gaya
Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Gaya in May, July, or August can be an affordable experience, as hotel prices may drop to lower prices during these months. For travellers keen on exploring the city's rich history and cultural heritage—including its temples, museums, and sightseeing tours—a stay of at least 4 to 5 days is ideal. This budget-friendly period offers great value for money, making it a perfect opportunity for those looking to experience Gaya on a budget while enjoying its notable landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover discounted rates on Gaya hotels by exploring the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you could find offers near your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales or special promotions. Furthermore, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app lets you compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you stay informed about any changes in availability or price drops for your preferred Gaya hotels.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating and season, so being flexible with your dates might help you save when staying at a hotel in Gaya. For travellers seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised touch and sometimes provide better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually come at a higher price, yet thanks to Gaya's superb public transport links, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a little further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even nearby, lesser-known cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
