Notwithstanding that the booking was non-cancellable, we contacted the hotel to enquire about a refund in the exceptional circumstances. "We stayed here for a week and we loved it! It was very cozy and the staff was friendly. Very close to the bike path and the beach. They had beach towels, bikes, movies you could check out such as Jurassic Park, and beach chairs you could use. Only thing was the pool was closed for maintenance the whole time and the maintenance man would only let friends and family use it. Wasn’t too big of a deal, we just went to the beach instead. There was a cute cat there as well, very skiddish but liked to just hang out. We learned her name is Sassy."

"The hotel has beautifully landscaped gardens and is right on the beach. The pool and bar were very nice but they didn’t have music at the Pool / bar. Our room was in decent condition clean comfortable bed, but the patio furniture was kind of dated. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance and you can take morning walks along the beach on the walkway there. It was very relaxing and not crowded like some of the big resorts. I highly recommend it."

Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

8/10 Good
"The location is great. Right by the beach, centrally located to all the attractions. Pool and pool area are great too. The rest in my opinion falls short of the 4 star, $500+ per night (with all the taxes and fees) hotel. I would give it 3.75 stars but there is no such option. Some areas are dated. You can tell the hotel tries to maintain them by painting stuff over but it shows. For me the worst were supply and return grills for the A/C unit. Very dirty. We actually had been turning the A/C off as much as we could so we would not breathe in the dust!! Thankfully the wonderful ocean breeze helped :) Breakfast buffet is decent but it falls short of the Marriott's standards. Some more daily variety would be nice."
