The customer service at this hotel was impeccable. It was in a great location in a quiet neighbourhood, which suited us. It was a two minute walk from Gaiemmae metro station which is on the very handy Ginza line. The staff went above and beyond to help us with our questions and phoned onward hotels for us when we had questions. The room was clean and had excellent amenities. Thoroughly recommend!

Other Space is a lovely hotel and is literally a stone’s throw from Sensoji Temple. There’s a coffee shop on the 1st floor and a well stocked convenience store. The staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect location and great staff. Our room was on 38th floor so we had fantastic views and the noise below wasnt an issue. The one gripe we had was the lack of clothing storage. Just one small rail with 4 or 5 hangers and nowhere to put our suitcases. We would still definitely recommend Hotel Groove Shinjuku to anyone in spite of this.

It’s a bit far away from the train stations but it’s close to the heart of Asakusa which is a reasonable trade off imo. It’s in a lovely quiet area so your walks to places are through very residential areas. The rooms themselves are good, the staff is helpful and it was a generally enjoyable experience.

I stayed here for my first 3 nights in Tokyo. The hotel is modern, clean, and located about one minute's walk away from a subway station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff spoke limited English (just as I speak limited Japanese) but did their best to help; I used Google Translate a few times, which helped both I and the staff. I had breakfast one morning and opted for the Western style buffet; the food wasn't served particularly warm, however, in the dozen or so Japanese hotels that...

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Tokyo
Book for the cheapest times: For budget travellers seeking affordable adventures, Tokyo offers great value for money, particularly during January, August, and September when hotel rates may drop to lower prices. A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal for exploring the city's key landmarks, history, and cultural attractions. Visitors can enjoy a wealth of experiences from historic temples and fascinating museums to impressive monuments and urban architecture, along with charming shopping districts, vibrant cultural scenes, and the beauty of natural parks and seasonal flowers, all while remaining on a budget.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers excellent options to Tokyo travellers seeking savings. You may discover attractive hotel deals in the Dealsopens in new window section, while last-minute offers in the Last-Minute Deals area could suit spontaneous plans. The Smart Shopping tool via the app provides a handy way to compare hotel prices and amenities, potentially leading you to more hotel recommendations across Japan. Enable email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you're likely to see opportunities for a last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal for your stay in a Tokyo hotel. If you're interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative, more affordable dates to assist you in discovering a better option.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be pricier, but thanks to Tokyo's outstanding public transport system, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
