Leicester City Centre
Leicester City Centre weaves medieval charm with multicultural energy at every turn. Wander through the 700-year-old market, discover King Richard III's remarkable storey at the dedicated visitor centre, or admire the imposing Leicester Cathedral. Historic cobbled lanes lead to theatres, museums, and shops that blend centuries of English heritage with vibrant South Asian influences. Food lovers thrive here with authentic curry houses and traditional British pubs dotting the walkable streets. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute stroll of each other, making exploration easy without transport. When evening falls, cosy pubs and cultural performances offer perfect ways to end your day of historical discovery.

Cultural Quarter
Leicester's Cultural Quarter buzzes with artistic energy around the stunning glass-fronted Curve Theatre and intimate Phoenix Cinema. Victorian industrial buildings house galleries with rotating exhibitions that spill into cobblestone courtyards. Visitors can hop between performances, art displays, and pre-show conversations while exploring this creative hub built on the city's textile manufacturing heritage. Dining options range from artisan coffee shops to upscale pre-theater restaurants with strong vegetarian choices. Boutique hotels and converted loft apartments in restored Victorian buildings offer stylish accommodation within walking distance of Leicester's train station. The pedestrian-friendly streets make exploring this cultural enclave a breeze.

Belgrave
Leicester's Belgrave area dazzles visitors with its famous "Golden Mile" of South Asian culture and commerce. Vibrant sari shops display rainbow silks while temple spires dot the skyline and the scent of cardamom floats from curry houses. Nearby attractions include the National Space Centre and Abbey Pumping Station, perfect for expanding your Leicester adventure. Exceptional South Asian cuisine dominates the food scene with everything from budget curry houses to upscale Gujarati thalis. While accommodation is limited within Belgrave itself, most visitors stay city centre just 15 minutes away by bus. The area buzzes during cultural celebrations like Diwali but maintains its authentic, lived-in community feel year-round.

Glenfield
Glenfield offers a peaceful retreat from the bustle of Leicester city life. This residential suburb trades tourist hotspots for leafy streets, local pubs serving traditional British fare, and authentic community vibes. The nearby Parish Council Recreation Ground provides green space for leisurely strolls, while Groby Pool nature reserve is perfect for bird watching enthusiasts. Budget-friendly B&Bs in converted family homes make this area a wallet-friendly base for exploring Leicester. Regular buses connect to the city centre every 15-20 minutes during peak hours. Travellers can enjoy quiet evenings in local pubs that close by 11pm after days spent visiting nearby attractions like Bradgate Park.

Days Inn by Wyndham Leicester Forest East M1
"Can't argue for price was just what we needed front desk very helpful easy check in room was clean spacious and just what we needed for nights stay"
Ramada Encore by Wyndham Leicester City Centre
"Overall pleasant stay, conveniently located. comfortable & clean. House keeping just need to be quieter as you can hear them from 8am in the morning and aren’t the most subtle"
Leicester Marriott Hotel
"We had a mostly pleasant stay at this suburban Marriott location. Parking was plentiful and secure compared with hotels closer to Leicester’s city center. The room was a good size and quiet even on a busy weekend. We also made use of the well-equipped gym, which was the main amenity at the hotel. Our only complaint was the lack of flexibility around breakfast. We were told we could not cancel it because we had booked a prepaid rate. This felt unnecessarily rigid and put a slight damper on an otherwise positive stay. Since we had already paid, we did try the breakfast despite having very little time. It was well presented with a good variety of options for different preferences and dietary requirements. Overall, this was the best-equipped and most comfortable hotel we stayed at during our UK travels. Despite the minor frustration with breakfast, we would happily stay here again and would recommend it, particularly for travelers with a car."
The Belmont Hotel
"Outstanding!!!! A really Customer Focused Independent Hotel full of Charm and Character: 10/10"
ibis Leicester City
"Get what you pay for, nothing fancy but okay. Reception staff a bit slow checking in, Bar area quite comfy and reasonable selection of drinks at reasonable price"
OYO Sunrise Hotel, A46 N Leicester
"The room was fine for the price that I paid however you dont expect to go to your rooms bathroom and have to flush the toilet from a no2 that was obviously left from a previous occupant, Clearly the cleaning standards are not very good."
