"Rooms are clean and well-maintained with everything you need. Checking in and out are all done digitally on kiosks, and there is a very friendly and helpful staff there to assist if you have trouble. Convenient location and secure parking. Couldn't give five stars because there was a peculiar smell all throughout the building (thankfully not in the rooms) and because the sofa bed mattress was too thin and uncomfortable. The main bed mattresses were great, though."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Sydney

  1. Book for the cheapest times: Sydney offers great value for money on a budget, particularly during the months of May to July when hotel prices may drop to more affordable levels. A stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal for exploring the city's rich landmarks, historical sites and cultural attractions. Visitors can enjoy the port, opera, shopping, gardens, architecture, art, ferry, dining, museums, and theatre, ensuring a memorable experience that balances affordability with an immersive cultural journey.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To explore last-minute deals for hotels in Sydney, begin by checking the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, activating email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com can keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, enhancing your chances of great savings. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app enables you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop, perfect for planning a spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates may help you save on your stay in a Sydney hotel. Boutique hotels, for those seeking unique experiences, can sometimes offer not only a more personalised touch but also potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it is on the higher side, we might suggest alternative dates that could offer a more attractive deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, thanks to Sydney's excellent public transport links, you might find an independent hotel further afield that is more likely to be affordable and still well connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
