Godo cooking facilities, clean, quiet. The only criticism is that we struggled to get in contact with the host over the phone to obtain our room number and key. Eventually a member of staff arrived and sorted it out.

This was our first “Guesthouse” experience. There was no staff onsite. They did communicate and respond via email promptly. Checkin was easy. Room was comfortable. Kitchen was well equip and spacious. There was no oven only stove top burners, microwaves or toaster (not a toast we over). Free coffee/expresso/lattes!! Ample frig space. Shared room was very comfortable.

A new owner, still learning how to run a hotel?

Positive things first: the room was clean as well as the public kitchen, which also had plenty of space, dishes and a working coffee machine. Only negative thing we encountered was that when taking shower at 10:30 in the morning, the hot water ended. The problem fixed by waiting for 5 minutes but maybe the owner could turn the knob in the boiler a bit clockwise :). I booked the room in April 2025 when this guesthouse had zero reviews in Google Maps and in hotels.com. When my trip came closer, I read many reviews about people not getting into the room. I got my code for keybox in the previous evening with no problem. If my eyesight was correct, the hotel is run by an Indian (?) couple (?) who is still learning how to run a hotel. This was still on the old name in Google Maps (fixed when we reported it) and the Wifi has the old hotel name. Just do a well-arranged system (Excel will do fine) to ensure everyone gets an email with the key box code and you will get this over 4,0/5,0 stars. There is no breakfast served (it is DIY) and the voice insulation is not good. These are not actual problems if you know these beforehand.

I could not actually check in to the hotel as there is no staff there and never received my room number or lockbox code for two rooms. I arrived at 8:15PM and tried calling for 30 minutes with no answer. I had my 3 year old children and had to go find another hotel. I do not reccomend. :(

Check in was terrible. They didn’t send email with code. Had to call Expedia to figure things out which took an hour to figure out. This happened to 3 other groups when we were there. Staff was rude when they showed up later. Terribly ran place!!

Not as promised

The hotel was not at all as the picture shows. My feeling is that it’s not maintained. The staff did not speak English or Icelandic and therefore not easy to communicate. And instead of staying there for the 2 days as was the plan, we left after the first night. And therefore I don’t recommend it at all.

Lugar no modelo self-service: não há funcionários na recepção, mas não sentimos falta. Recebemos informações de como acessar o quarto por e-mail (foi bem tranquilo) e os quartos estavam limpos e bem organizados. A vista do quarto é muito bom - imagino q dê para ver a aurora boreal se o tempo estiver bom diretamente do quarto, pois o lugar é bem isolado. A área comum é bem suprida e confortável. Excelente custo-benefício para quem está passeando por toda Islândia.

Communication catastrophique, envoi de mail, sms, appels téléphonique … aucune réponse … à 14h le jour même nous n’avions toujours pas reçu de code pour entrer. Il a été envoyé à 15h par mail sans plus de formalisme que cela. Rien que pour cela passez votre chemin !! La salle de bain sent très mauvais, le tapis de douche pourrit sur place. Dépôt de saleté sur le drap. Restes collants sur la table de chevet. Sol qui pègre. La partie cuisine commune est grande et pratique. On aurait apprécié y trouver du sel, voire de l’huile. Bref la pire expérience. Cher et au milieu de nulle part.

Fint sted med selvbetjening ved indtjekning. Gode store værelser og et fint fælles køkken med alt udstyr (Med undtagelse af ovn) og stort fælles spiseområde. Efter spisning kan man trække sig ind i et fælles område, hvor der var air hockey.
