WORST HOSTEL EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD!!
Despite online booking confirmation and ringing up the hostel beforehand to tell them my ETA, I was told, rather rudely, that they were full and had no beds available. After a lot of back and forth it was clear they had overbooked as they had my name written down but still kept telling me I couldnt stay there.
So they turned me out into the streets of brisbane in the middle of the night as a solo female traveller with all my things and nowhere to go. No help, no advice, nothing.
By this time, everywhere else I rang up was fully booked, so I ended up sleeping at the airport because at least that was a safe place for me to go.
A guest told me this had been happening "all night" and that they had guests sleeping on sofas in the hallways due to overbooking. I was also told there were bedbugs at the property, something a lot of the reviews mention.
All I can say is, I'm glad I'm safe and that I chose the "pay upon arrival" option, as reading the reviews a lot of people haven't had their money back.
Stay safe!! Do not stay here!!!!

I have emailed hotels.com as my son went to the hostel with his booking and was turned away as the Palm Hamilton did not have his booking. I have been charged £22 and he didn't even stay there. I would like someone to get in touch with me from hotels.com as I have sent emails but no response. we ended up paying £150 for a hotel room as it was desperate.

I first saw this advertised for $130, offering a room with private bathroom. When I came back to the ad later in the day the cost was $65, which I presumed was because they hadn't managed to rent the room. When I turned up I was shown a double bed with a bathroom in the passageway next to the room. In discussion with the person who showed me the room I said I'd paid $65, and suddenly I was told that a couple had booked the double bed but I could have a single bunk in the room next door. When I asked the manager told me he didn't think anyone else would be in the room with me. When I asked for sheets I was given one elasticised bottom sheet and when I asked for another (because it was too hot for the synthetic throw they gave me and there was no aircon) I was given another elasticised sheet. The bathroom next door was clearly used by several people and was dirty. I could lock the room from inside, but was given no key (despite my request) that would allow me to lock it from the outside. This place would be overpriced at $30 - at $130 it's daylight robbery! - and the manager simply runs a scam ensuring that the advertised rooms are not available. This is really one of the worst places I have stayed in.
