Best place I know of to use as a base to explore Lake Garda. Only drawback is that taxi service at the train station is spotty (but if you're ok walking, it's straight downhill into town and less than a mile).....

Beautiful area. Quiet during the off season. I do wish the ferries ran a bit more often in October, although I know that's when they switch to their winter schedule.

Great restaurants within walking distance. The ferry and the bus service is excellent to get to other places in Lake Garda.

Take the time to explore outside of the immediate tourist areas, you won't be disappointed. It's a lovely place.

Hotel Palazzo Del Garda & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"This property is spotless, the staff are friendly and the food just gorgeous. The place is well thought out. A small car park, followed by the hot tub and pool, with sunbeds. There is also a sun terrace upstairs that is really nice but noone really used it apart from a couple of people. We never used the spa but you can book in to have a massage. The location is less than 5 mins to the lake and the town centre is about 10-15 min walk. Station is a good 25-30 mins walk but the tickets are easy to get and you can go to Verona, Milan or Venice quite easily. Great location, great staff and hotel. "
"Would stay here again! Visited for a week because my aon had a race at South Garda track. This hotel is right on the lake, walking distance to everything. Grab a ferry to the other towns on the lake for some adventures. On site restaurant was amazing, great local wine selections. Breakfast was great. Every staff member was so friendly and helpful and didnt laugh when my italian wasn't spot on. Shower was hot and the pressure was good. My only complaint is that the bed is not the comfiest and it took me a whole day to figure out how to turn the AC on. And whatever you do, dont open the windows at night."
"Great hotel within walking distance of town center with a lovely view of the lake.
The staff were wonderful, the breakfast excellent, we had a delightful few days staying here."
"This was the last hotel we stayed at on a tour we did of Malta, Sicily and Italy. We didn’t know what to expect as we had had a couple of terrible ones. Thankfully the hotel was lovely, staff were friendly and accommodating, the hotel was immaculately clean, rooms, pool area and breakfast was great. It was in a great location a few minutes walk from the lake and 10 mins walk downhill from the train station. Would recommend without hesitation. "
"Fabulous. Very small showers though. Would need bigger if bigger than a Uk size 12, I’m a 10 and I had found washing my hair and bending down in it very difficult. "
"Free beach access with lounge chairs was a great amenity. Sea view room looked right on the lake. Lots of options for free breakfast, restaurants delicious for dinner too. Great service. "
"Just enjoyed a wonderful 3 day break. Everything was easy. Details given for self check-in easy to follow. Room was large, clean, well decorated. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large. Hairdryer best quality ever seen in a hotel. Parking onsite free. 5 min walk to lake front with all the bars and restaurants. We hired 2 bikes from the hotel, saved us a fortune compared to hire shops. Would definitely recommend staying here. "
"A lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Housekeeping was good and the facilities were excellent. The breakfast spread was substantial and the restaurant good value for money.
Would be very happy to stay there again."
