Sombrero Beach was awesome! We also visited Bahia Honda State Park, which had a beautiful white sand beach. Curry Hammock State Park was also very relaxing. We enjoyed walking over the 7-mile bridge walking section.

Marathon has a turtle hospital, a dolphin research center, and an aquarium. There are plenty of tourist shops and places to eat. It's a great place to stay.

A nice place to visit and enjoy fishing, boating, cruising and all water sport activities. Very good fresh fish dining, nice beach and close to Key West and all the other Keys.

Marathon is a wonderful place with a lot to see and do. I highly recommend the Turtle Hospital. We were fortunate enough to be able to see a turtle released! Lots of great food around and Sombrero Beach is beautiful.

Only complaint about Marathon was restaurant pricing. Other than that, the area is nice. Not as chaotic as Key West but close enough to go there and get back to Marathon in less than an hour both ways.

If staying in marathon be mindful that everything, including resultants tends to close fairly early. If you are arriving later in the night you will not find food or a grocery store open.

My family has been visiting the Keys since I was a kid and often stay on Marathon. We enjoy the slow pace and lower cost of it compared to Key West.

"From check in, to the pool bar, to BB at the outside cabana sports area, the staff was awesome. Location is great, even during lobster mini season. Everything you could want or need you can do right there at the resort. Room was super clean and everything was just nice and relaxing. Could not recommend this place more, if you are looking for paradise in paradise. "
