This is a very pleasant hotel conveniently located just few minutes walk from the station. there are shops and restaurants near by so whatever you need is within reach. Staff is very nice but not everyone speaks English which can complicate things a little bit. Over all we had a good time in very clean and quiet room.
Good choice if you are using the station as you literally walk out the hotel and into the station. Had everything you need and a good breakfast. Hard to be understood in English but we were in Japan!
Absolutely fantastic. It's beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were very warm and kind and made my stay very comfortable. My Japanese is very limited, but they took the time to carefully explain things for me at a level I could understand, including the food. If you can get out to Tsunan (and the train there was quite scenic, so do try), I really can't recommend it enough. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

We booked the Shibu Hotel as part of our plan to visit the nearby Snow Monkey Park. The quality of the hotel sevice was immediately evident when they provided a car to collect us from the station. They then drove us to the Snow Monkey Park and arranged to collect us when we had finished our visit. A bit of a culture change for the uninitiated, but this hotel is incredible. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are just lovely and served in a traditional environment that sets you up for the day. Wish we could have stayed for longer.
This was our first ryokan experience and we couldn’t have been more impressed. The staff were fantastic, the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were incredible and our room, with a private Onsen, was stunning. The area around the hotel is so picturesque. We had a great time exploring the streets, in our provided yukata, trying all the public onsen. We will certainly be back to Shibu Onsen
